Restock Of The A-7 Set?

Recommended Posts

Yup good thing I got it when I did and I don't even have the Trumpeter kit as yet. AM stuff is always good to get early as it does go OOP. The kits will be around for years I figure and I have been right in most cases.

Now the bigger wish is that Zactoman produces this conversion in 1/48th to correct the crappy HB kits. I almost bought an HB kit until I saw that the HB kit was a scaled down Trumpeter kit with the SAME problems. Damn it. No early A-7 for me.

Oh well I live in hope.

That's a good idea.

"Get while the gettin's good."

Buy the AM product while it's being produced.

If later you decide not to use it, you can sell it for what you paid for it and make another modeler a happy camper. A win-win for sure.

Or in some cases you can sell them for much more than they originally cost. Think Cutting Edge which can go on Ebay for 5-10 times what they originally sold for.

Chris I do not think you should compare yourself to Cutting Edge. Your stuff is superb while personally I think the CE sets are dependent on who created the masters. If I could I would frame your stuff, put it on my wall and call it masterpiece art which I think it is :).

And I will say it again maybe selective sets in 1/48 would not be a bad thing (A-7 and F-14 Trumpeter sets). Well maybe bad for you as you will have even more work. Just sayin'.

Hello to all! My name is Eduardo Rivera, I am a new member to these forums. I am currently working on a 1/32 scale A-7D from trumpeter with many resin and PE parts for this build. The problem with this build is that I need a zacto A-7 correction set to finish my project. I just wanted to know if there is anyone in these forums that would like to sell me a set. My email : peterandmacho@yahoo.com I would appreciate any help! Best Regards Ed Rivera

I will be more than happy to have the complete set without a vacuform canopy.

Chris, what do you think to sell the correction set with the resin canopy master instead of vacuform part.

So it's up to us to make copies, it makes "mistakes possible" too, if we cut the vacuform in the wrong way we could try to mold a second, and so on...

I buy one in that version...

Bye.

Marco

Well, how about just doing a set with the intake and nose corrections?

Chuck

I was selling the intake and intake lip, but they didn't sell well without the other parts. I might re-release this if demand seems high enough.

My nosecone won't fit the kit canopy.

As for selling the whole set without the clear parts, that wouldn't be possible either as the frame details won't fit the kit canopy either.

Sorry, but I don't want copies of my master vacform pattern floating around out there.

While I have discontinued the set, there is still the possibility of re-releasing it someday if I can solve the vacuumforming problems.

I don't have a clue about your vacform source but it would seem like someone out there in the world would be able to produce them (I'm sure you've attempted to find a new source). I'm know I'm speaking for a bunch of modelers that really, really hope you can get the problem solved and get your great set re-released. I guess my kit stays in my stash, unbuilt, until that happens. Keep trying.....please...

Couple points. I too would love some of your stuff in 1/48...

Also, would really like the A-7 kit and felt the same about the Tomcat and Flanker stuff. Just ordered the Tomcat set and the Flanker combo was unavailable. Will look for it...

BTW, I do NOT have the Trumpy F-14 yet.

Thanks for the great stuff Chris.

Just a suggestion Chris - I recent bought a conversion from Werner's Wings for an Avia S-199

that includes some beautiful vac canopies. I believe Floyd Werner farmed that work out.

Perhaps contacting Floyd to see where he had that done? Just an idea...
