Anyone experiencing redirection issues?

Recommended Posts

Hey guys,

Has any of you experience lately, any re-direction issues when trying to open the forum's page?

Every time I have tried to open the forum's page, I'm redirected to a suspicious web page, which I close immediately.

Any thoughts on this one?

First I would run a full system scan with your anti virus. It may be that you have trojan or a rogue plugin in your browser. I'm not sure which browser you are using, but find your manage your Add-ons tab and see if you find any suspect add-ons or plugins there. Try using a different browser also.

Hi jfmajor60,

This is the page that takes me, when I try to open the arcforums web page: http://url4short.info/a2d216dd

Don't know why this is happening. Perhaps it's a rogue plugin or, a trojan (which I hope not but,...), as you're suggesting. My browser is Safari v.4 and I don't use an anti virus program because I don't need one. I have a Mac, which as a working platform is used by just a few people (at least this used to be true a decade ago :crying2: ) so, there are not a lot of viruses for this OS.

Thanks again for your reply.

The exact same thing is happening to me, Sernak. Malwarebytes once did the trick for me a year ago for a redirect virus my computer got infected with, but it isn't helping now. And it's just the ARC site this time that I'm being redirected from.

Is this still an issue for anyone? I've been getting this quite a bit recently, probably means I'm spending too long looking stuff up but flaming annoying, 'specially when you get around to the tab its on & then can't find the original link. If I go back to the original link & open this again, it always comes onto the correct page. Only does it with ARC & only to the url4short link which has too many words & not enough pictures for me to be interested in.;) I'm wondering if somehow this is a google ad that ARC has subscribed too, inadvertantly or otherwise?

I get it on the iPad the first time I try go on, but then I close it and try again and it works. I initially thought it was just an iPad thing but then it started happening on my work PC now. I don't get it when using the home PC as I use Firefox as my browser.

It's very annoying. Is anyone looking into this issue?

As you say. if you close & reopen its OK then but annoying when your link is 3 pages back on google & you have to go find it again. ( Tabbed browsing. :( ) I'm using Firefox too & it does it on that. This is the only site I've seen it on.

I get it too. When I do a google search for arc forums, of the first 3 hits I get if I click on the second one it goes to that annoying URL4short thing, which was my saved link, but if I click on the hit below it, it goes straight to the forums without a problem. I am using a Mac by the way…..
