Corey
Happy New Years Kursad and Caracal Fans! Kursad, is there any way you might consider doing a sheet of NJANG F-4s? I just went through my collection of Hasegawa 30th Anniversary Phantoms and ALL the decals have turned yellow. This is a subject that could use the Caracal/Cartograph treatment in a bad way!!! The 108th had both F-4D's and F-4E's and they appeared in SEA, Euro 1 and Hill grey schemes. The tiger nose art that appeared on the E models also came in at least 3 variations. I know Hi-decal has mentioned that they would do it, but we've been waiting for years for that sheet. I hope you might consider it for some time in the near future! =) thanks Corey in Colorado PS, any more thoughts on an F-84F sheet for the Hobbyboss Kit? KursadA
I actually have this subject in the pipeline - I have been working on it on-and-off for a while now; and have drawn several. I have some personal involvement with these as well - several of the the NJ ANG's F-4E's were passed on to Turkey, where I was able to see them up close and photograph them as a teenager. I still have photos of the few aircraft I was able to photograph. I was hoping to finish this sometime by the spring - I may have to pull it to a little earlier. Happy New Year, everyone! Thanks for the quick reply! Well, that's exciting to hear, I look forward to seeing what you come up with. Maybe some before and after would be cool, NJ airplanes and then the Turkish ones with the tigers. I too had some exposure to those airplanes on the Jersey side...I'll have to see what photos I have. Mike J. Idacavage
Kursad This is great news!!! I would also love to have the NJ ANG Phantom decals, especially in 1/72 if at all possible. I also have a personal reason for wanting these decals (as if being Phantom decals are not enough!) as I came THIS close to being a NJ ANG member way back when. I grew up in New Jersey and had started the process to join the ANG before I opted to go down a different path and go to college. Have fun modeling! Mike :cheers:/>
riffraff
I saw a couple of these F-4's in 1992 at the IAT at Bascombe Down. I believe that they were being taken from the States to Turkey at the time. One unique thing I remember (and still kick myself for not taking a picture of) was the planes still had the American pilots names on them even though they were in Turkish colours. Corey Hi Corey, Just FYI,decals for Turkish AF F-4E 68-0346 with the tiger head has been released last year ( HD 48028 & HD 72058 F-4E/F-4ETM/RF-4ETM ) , and the NJ ANG "Tigers" will be the very next release, including a.o. 68-0346, combined with some EAF Phantoms (HD 48033 & HD 72063)- the artwork data are practically complete, including crew names etc. Greetings Diego Edited January 6, 2015 by Diego

bdt13
Kursad- Another vote for this sheet in 1/72 please! I bought the Hasegawa F-4E with the NJ Tiger painted over Euro-1 a few years back. I rarely buy a kit to build with kit decals, but I did this time! As you might imagine for a kit this age, some yellowing is setting in, which has dissuaded me from starting this build. The Hasegawa decals are thick and off-white to begin with anyway. Having some modern, quality decals like your would move this up in the build cycle. Cheers-
Tankcommander
I'm interested as well as a NJ resident and retired Natiional Guardsman I saw them in service at MacGuire AFB and even had a tour with NJIPMS. If you need more pictures I have several in both paint schemes on the flight line. The Princeton Tiger on the nose was awesome. TC
