A fellow modeler is building the ship and he requested me to build a helicopter for the flight deck. Turkish Naval Forces is operating a fleet of AB-212 and S-70B-28 aircraft, in 1/100 scale you have only one option, Revell Seahawk kit. Turkish version of Seahawk has completely different sensor package compared to US Navy counterparts, therefore lots of cutting and filling is required. Most of the pictures are self explanatory, any input and criticism is very welcome. To be
  4. Fuselage of the aircraft near the propeller tips must be strong enough to withstand primarily the effects of ice thrown from the propeller. Therefore kevlar (most of the time) plates are built into these sections. However, even Kevlar plates are not enough to provide any meaningful protection from a whole prop blade release anywhere in line with the prop swath (but it helps ) In case of C-160, I can see the reinforcement plates that you mentioned even in pictures dating back to late seventies and early eighties. I doubt they were added later. HTH
  5. Mandrake; I didnt know that there was a Falklands/Malvinas GB thread; great job! Photograph has a BAe Systems copyright, so I contacted BAe Heritage Department. They have been very helpful and stated that they will dig for the original photo in the archives. I will post the progress on my site. Philp; RAF link was very helpful indeed. Thanks
  6. I am planning to build a Falklands War era diorama with Sea Harriers, however have some problems reaching the information I may need. If you check out this site and see if you can help on any of the issues mentioned I would definitely appreciate your effort. Thanks in advance.
