dragan_mig31
Hello guys. Here is my latest. The well known zvezda mi-24v model kit wich is a nightmare to build due to the poor fit of the parts. My model represents a Russian ari froce mi-24V during their intervention in dagestan against islamic militia back in 1999.I scratchbuilted the instrument panel and many other cokcpit details like seatbelts and the gunsight.I rescribed the panel lines completley because zvezda has the shallowest ones in the scale plastic world. The paints used are revell enamels and gunze acrylics. The decals came from the spares box. Enjoy the photos
jfmajor60
Another outstanding build dragan!!! I have the 1/72 Hasegawa D version in my stash I hope it turns out half as well as yours, well done
Joel_W
Just an excellent build of a rather difficult kit. Very nice job on your Camo paint scheme. Joel

ChernayaAkula
Nice one! Any particular areas to watch out for regarding fit? Given that I've got around a dozen Zvezda Hinds in the stash...
kotey
Nice model, actually helicopter with ex-peacekeep marking used since first anti-terror company (1994), RuAF operate this helicopters during Abkhasian-Georgian conflict. I'm saw Mi-24Ps and Mi-24VPs with blue stripes and MC letters.
Platycqb
Nice one! :thumbsup:/>/>/> Any particular areas to watch out for regarding fit? Given that I've got around a dozen Zvezda Hinds in the stash... :rolleyes:/>/>/> All of them. :D Joking aside, Zvezda over engineered the kit to allow open doors for the engine. That's my biggest concern with the fit. The rest needs attention, but nothing horrible in my book. The engine area though is a whole other story. Lots of dry fitting in my case. And oh yes, the engraving is very shallow as mentioned by Dragan. But overall, I like the kit. Edited May 18, 2015 by Platycqb
dragan_mig31
Thanks guys.Well the fit of the front fuselage halves and the third part on the bottom is terrible. Also the engines, the engine covers and everything in that area. Also the front windshield fits terrible especialy on the right side. Ryan Hothersall
Nice build. Yes have to agree the Zvezda hinds are complex, with all their openable hatches etc. Have their Mi-35M on the go. Edited May 19, 2015 by Ryan Hothersall
Lyash Igor
Superb "crocodile", Dragan (as usual)! Too contrast soot on the blades of main rotor (above), IMHO.
ChernayaAkula
Thanks for the heads-up regarding fit, Platycqb and Dragan!
beingthehero
I rescribed the panel lines completley because zvezda has the shallowest ones in the scale plastic world. Hoo boy. Are we talking Condor levels of shallow panel lines? Because those things were barely even there on their MiG-25 kits, and I have a few of Zvezda's Hind-Vs in the stash. Anyways that's an excellent job! Wish I had that skill.
dragan_mig31
Well condor has a faint resemblance of panel lines. This ones are present but really shallow.I have built the condor mig-25 and there ware no panel lines present so I had to rescribe the whole kit.
