  1. tobiK Thanks, I looked at the photo and it has a WA on the vertical fin. Not used to seeing that scheme at Nellis. They are usually the Blue , Gray, White or the Tan, Brown scheme. Thanks for the info
  2. Just a question about a certain paint scheme I saw on an F-16 at Aviation Nation 2016. The scheme was a Gray, Black, White Splinter scheme. The Aircraft was red 83. I seem to recall that this was a scheme used up in Alaska. Just my imagination? I will try an post a couple of photos this weekend. Show was good. Thanks for your assistance!
  3. My Doctors have released me back into the wild so I am going to be driving out from Las Vegas for this with a bit of sight seeing on the way. Just got my tickets so I am ready and stoked. See you all in August.
  4. If you go as far south as Palmdale and head back through Mojave then take a shot at going by the West gate at Edwards A.F.B. They have an outdoor display of all of the Century Jets (check it out on Google Maps) that is open to the public since it is outside the gate. One big Caution is to remember that it can get VERY HOT in that part of the country in July so take A LOT of water with you (Oh yeah Sunscreen also!). Take the Rosamond Blvd exit off Highway 14 and head east towards Edwards. Have a great time on your trip.
  5. Cool Miss. Watched an F-4J on a wave off try that in 76 but he caught the wire and LANDED, very hard. Minor damage except to the portside stabilator.
  6. and last but not least the rest of the gang and at last the sun set on the whole shebang. Hope that you enjoyed and look for my here in Mid Oct. when I finish up with the Grand Junction photos Happy Modeling WcM - PhantomPhixer74
  7. and least we forget - the F-22 and Heratige flight with Double Trouble Two. Not sure why they do this particular part during the demo but I always try to get a few good shots in case I ever decide to detail the interior while building a kit and the break
  8. First some of the older jets. I never saw the Mig in the air but the other three were up on both Sat. and Sunday. These last two were caught on Friday. The CAnada jet was on static display through the weekend and the F-16 did a few fly-bys and I think headed back to Denver?
  9. An absolutely beautiful A-26, B-26, A-26 (pick a time period and a designation to go with it). This guy was doing some pretty quick flybys but I managed to catch this group of shots. This guy, with way to much time on his hands has an engine like the one used in the T-2 Buckeye. and the Pyro guys seemed to have a few extras to hand. this close up was on Saturday and the last two were from a more distant vantage point on Sunday. You might be able to see the truck over to the right on the last shot.
  10. This group of T-28s were in for the weekend. The two guys in the Marine and USAF grey T-28s flew together and did some nice flying. These last two were of course a TBM in from Grand JUnction, Co. I hope to see more of this one at the Grand Junction Air Show this coming weekend (Sept. 21-23) along with the Blue Angels.
  11. This in from the Air Show above. The first nine guys fly Russian built aircraft as a precision flying group. I don't know if they are regional. I don't remember them at any previous shows but I have been out of Circulation for awhile. If anyone else has seen this group - sing out and let us know. This last one is supposed to be a Yak-3. I haven't researched it yet but it is on my to do list.
  12. This one was hangin out in Vernal, Ut for a week or so before the fires around Northern Utah broke out. Great bunch of guys, they let a few of us that stopped by to come out and walk all around the helicopter. This first one was from the passenger side of the airport and then one of the employees suggested that I go around to the general aviation side. That was when I was able to just walk on out to the aircraft qand shoot the following. This last one is four pictures put together as an experiment to do a panorama shot - finished size is 12" by 60"
  13. Sky Crane hangin' at the Vernal, Ut. airport on fire fighting duty. The support guys and the pilots were very accomidating about answering questions and letting you get close around the bird. The photo below was taken through the chainlink fence before I found out I could go around to the other side of the airport and walk right out to the aircraft.
  14. Well I am back. Yeah I know, Hold the Applause till later. Got a few pictures at the Chino Planes of Fame Living History flying event today. I wasn't aware that this was a plane that could fly. According to the talk this morning there are only two that still exist and this one is the only flying example. The other plane is suppossedly at the Smithsonian but I have pictures of one that was on display (summer of 2003) in the Air Force Museum in Dayton, Oh. Anyone know if that is the one at the Smithsonian now? On display for the morning. The two aircraft in the background are, I believe, a St
  15. Saw news that the B-17 Liberty Belle crashed outside of Chicago sometime this morning but, according to th article, no loss of life. I was privileged to tour this aircraft on two occasions. Once here at the North Las Vegas airport and once at Thunder over Michigan. From the pictures I saw she looks like a total loss. She will be missed
