  1. A really big thanks for the links, Don... I also do a lot of wood projects around the house, so I distinguish between "gloss" and "satin" finishes.
  2. Thanx for that info. Years ago (actually about five decades) I'd do the conventional thing of doping the balsa and applying the tissue. Then spritz with a water mist to shrink the tissue before applying the final color coat(s) of dope. Jay mentioned a "gloss coat". What would be best? Clear lacquer over the dope before the decals, or some other coating material? What would work best with the solvent/setting solutions? I've ordered Testors' decal solvent and setting solutions.
  3. I'm waiting for UPS delivery of Guillow's 807 kit; it should be here today. I'll be building it for static display in a newly opened restaurant at our local air strip. The problem I see will be in the decals, specifically solvent/setting solutions. I've used them on plastic models with excellent results, but never on balsa/tissue models. I'm open for hints, suggestions, and names of products to use.
