KursadA
CD32014 will be a sheet for USAF and ANG T-6G Texans; designed for the Kitty Hawk kit. I will include only actual service markings(no crazy nose art or cowl markings, no sharkmouths, just plain, standard Air Training Command and ANG aircraft) and not restored aircraft like those on the kit sheet. Coming in September. Edited July 5, 2014 by KursadA
thegoodsgt
After reading about the issues with the Kitty Hawk kit, I've been on the fence about getting one, but this decal sheet might sway me! Steven Brown Scale Model Soup
KursadA
Some drafts from the ongoing work on this 1/32 sheet - I intend to make this available in October. I wish the kit provided the parts for the earlier canopy framing so I could do a second sheet with some SNJ-5/6 options, but perhaps someone will address this later. I am also considering an international T-6 sheet with some Japanese (both JASDF and JMSDF) aircraft and others. Edited September 3, 2014 by KursadA
dmk0210
Interesting schemes. I never knew the AF did yellow on their Texans. I thought that was a Navy thing.
11bee
I recall that some T-6's were used as FACs during the Korean War. I thought I also saw a picture or two of some T-6's with black undersides that were used during this conflict. Any interest?
KursadA
I recall that some T-6's were used as FACs during the Korean War. I thought I also saw a picture or two of some T-6's with black undersides that were used during this conflict. Any interest? The interest is there, but references are not. There are quite a few photos of these FAC aircraft with very simple markings, but the very few that had interesting nose art or decoration are not well documented. In contrast the yellow postwar trainer scheme is very well documented. Another factor is the limitation set forth by the late canopy included in the kit: At the time I started this project, there was no aftermarket option for the early canopy - now I notice that AlleyCat has addressed this. So I am now looking at a few more USAF and US Navy options; and a Korean War AT-6 may be among them. Edited September 15, 2014 by KursadA
Vince Maddux
How about a Civil Air Patrol T-6?? http://www.airfields-freeman.com/CA/Airfields_CA_SanFernan_htm_m58bc993f.jpg
