Before it gets ugly...need your opinion....

So, if any of you have dealt with me over the many years as I cruise the ARC "ARK", you know I try to be fair to everyone. Just like you, I do not like to be screwed but this one is about to get nasty.

I am building the 1/350 scale Tamiya Enterprise and I am putting some serious money to one of the most popular and best service vendors in scale modeling. Well, I am slowly picking up supplies as I go and decided to pick up a few items along with a limited edition item that I have had my eyes on for some time. So I placed the order, and last Thursday the kits and AM came in. My daughter is starting to share my passion with scratchbuilding, so she was loving the big box when it came in. As always with this vendor, I was not disappointed and loved the communication we have had in the last few weeks about my Eprise hunt.

As I put everything back in the box, I noticed that the big item that I had paid 250 dollars for online, had a 199.99 sticker on the side. Ok, Im not going to overreact, maybe it was the price they paid and they have to make a profit. Well, I sent an email a week ago, and have gotten no response. Before, I would get a response the next day. This time, I have not gotten anything from them in a week.

Here is the kicker, I asked a friend to stop by the store cause he lived close by....AND....

sure enough there were three of the kits I had purchased, all with the 199.99 stcker on them.

What do you think? I am going to try to call the store tomorrow. I will keep this thread updated, and change it to a good trader if they make good on my 50 bucks. It is goign back in the store cause I have about 300 dollars more to put in the build.

So what is this big item, I've searched for (not the store) any aftermarket for the Enterprise and come up with a few photo etch sets.I'm curious what is it???

What's the going market rate for the limited edition item?

I always google search prices whenever I find something I want and I'm not sure of what the average online price is. Sometimes I find that the price is a few bucks higher than the cheapest online price but I'll still buy it from vendor "a" anyway because I don't want to have to deal with a separate order from another vendor.

OK, the company made good but the show was top notch. So anyway the item is the new 1/72nd FM Millenium Falcon. No emails at all about the issue after a week and a half, but they were able to notify other ARC'ers about their pre-orders coming in, and I had someone send a random question and immediately got an answer.

Apparently, the owner said that the price was a mistake, uh, yeah, and that it should have been changed. I guess I was suppose to feel guilty that one of their employees screwed up. Anyway, I got a 50 dollar credit, which I immediately put back into the shop for 200 bucks of stuff.

All I ask is just admit your mistake to your frequent customers, and lets move on. I dont need a guilt trip, just want you to explain, take care of the problem and move on. I got pe to glue to plastic.

Thanks for the input.

Honestly, shouldnt you check the product before you ship it out? We are not talking rocket science here....plus they did admit that the price was left over from a sale they had a week back. Not our problem....sooooooo...

Same vendor.

I placed two orders one hour apart. Yeah, I noticed that a AM set had come available and I found out after I placed the first order. So, I place my orders on a Saturday afternoon, at about 3:00 and then at 4:00...got my confirmation that they had gotten both orders. The first order goes out Monday. I hear nothing about the second order until Thursday when they send me a message saying that my second order was not shipped cause they were at the Nationals.

Right.....I cant wait till Monday to see if the order actually goes out. There was a lot of orders placed for this AM set and I would not be surprised if they ran out.

Bottom line. It doesn't take much to keep your customers notified. Are we going to continue to let little things that an organ-grinding chimp or one of those water drinkin birds could accomplish, let go?

my 2 cent gripe....

So, the items I purchased were taken to a convention and sold???!!!!!!

What in the CRAP?!???!!!

"Vendor X recently participated in the National IPMS show in Virginia Beach.

The item ordered was sold at the show and will be restocked in our warehouse.

We have the item on order and will get that shipped out as quickly as possible."

Got this today.

That is classeeeee. Real Classy!

for starters, they should have realized that you made two separate orders that close together, and combined them into one. the way i see it, anyway, and a couple of the online stores do it this way.

i would wonder if they want to see how much they can get for it at the show, before they sell it to you at their regular price. even if they know for sure that they can get more of that product, you should have gotten your stuff. if they knew that they were going to hose you on it, they shouldnt have listed it.

really sucks if you already paid for it.
