  1. Are you familiar with this chart? http://www.little-cars.co.uk/workbench49.pdf Cheers, Nige B
  2. I used kids powdered watercolour paints well mixed when I started, OK on paper or wood.
  3. Is this the same kit which first appeared in 1973 ?
  4. A well known film in the UK, remarkable for being in colour, a rare commodity in wartime Britain. Pops up on TV occasionally as well. A superb sequence shows a squadron of Lancs taxying for take off and another shot through the bomb aimers window during take off, demonstrates graphically a less than sparkling initial rate of climb with a full load. I think it might be called 'Night Bomber', not wishing to be over pedantic though, sorry.
  5. Enamels are definitely more reliable for brush and certainly less faff in Airbrush use. The smell isn't too toxic either, being basically paraffin (kerosene). Spraying indoors is a luxury most of us have to forego anyway but so long as a form of extraction is used and a suitable protective mask, no major problems are presented. Acrylics might be better/safer for youngsters but then again, I used enamels as a young kid when it was all there was. Another major plus which doesn't often get a mention is that the shelf life of enamel paint beats acrylic hands down. I'm still using some Humbrol en
  6. [i doubt there is a team there that can fix this damage. Not a doubt but a racing certainty. An opinion that comes from 31 years in BA Engineering and 15 as a pilot. Job loss is not a certainty though. A 'No Blame' culture exists nowadays. Career prospects could be damaged however. Q: Who do you blame in a no blame culture?
  7. As always, an investigation will reveal the truth in the fullness of time. Spare a thought for the flight deck crew who will be having a truly awful Christmas now with this hanging over them. And the poor engineering hit team who will be away from home as a result of this also. My own experience of this by a close mate who was skipper on a similar incident reminds me how bad these things can be. He was thankfully exonerated since the airfield had WIP (work in progress) and had badly marked up temporary airfield charts and the taxiways to reflect the hazards. It left him in a bad state all th
  8. Does this seems right to you? Like I said, I've never dealt with them before. The email almost looks fishy.... Looks very fair to me. The postage alone won't be far short of the sum requested and since a complete kit is now approaching 15GBP, I would take them up on it. Nige B
  9. Yep. Did that as well. Received some messages but nothing ever happened. Too hard, life is too short.
  10. I have tried a few times over the years to buy Whirly products but have never actually succeded. I think the guy who makes them (I think he is a Reverend?)seems to do it as a hobby. Given up now I'm afraid. Too hard.
  11. Having recently read Stephen Baxter's Voyage novel about the alternative history post JFK, I look at all this stuff with renewed interest. If you haven't read it yet, do. Sorry to hijack the thread.
  12. Is that code for Hawker Hunter or Supermarine Scimitar?
  13. Supermarine Scimitar or Hawker Hunter please... I'm sorry guys, I'll get my coat..
