A-4 Skyhawk Group Build information thread

Recommended Posts

Welcome to a group build celebrating the Douglas A-4 Skyhawk, designed by the incomparable Ed Heinemann. First flown 61 years and 9 days before our group build start date, the aircraft can still be found in first line service today.

The group build will run from July 1 2015 to January 1 2016. You can construct any variant of the Skyhawk in any service, public or private. No "what-if" builds are allowed, but you can use aircraft schemes that will be in service soon (for example, the AF-1B Falcão is just starting to enter the Brazilian fleet now and may not exist at the moment in serial numbers available from decal sheets).

You can enter any model that is not yet "10% done" - that is, if you have not yet closed the fuselage halves around the cockpit. You can use any kit with any aftermarket additions in any scale.

Use this thread to ask any questions about the group build itself, models you have planned, or the aircraft. Post your planned builds in the "Planned builds" thread, and post pictures of your completed models in the "Finished models" thread.

Have fun, everyone!

Posted in the buy/sell forum as well, I'm looking for two A-4 kits to purchase for the right price:

Testors 1/72 A-4E/F; "Lady Jessie"

Italeri 1/72 A-4E/F; VA-212 decals ("Hot Rod" Boxing)

If anyone has either of these kits they can sell (CONUS, payment through PayPal) please feel free to PM me with your asking price. Thanks in advance, I'm trying to find these kits for the Skyhawk GB.
