Does any one who has built this kit know approximately how much weight is needed to get this bird to sit on it's tricycle gear properly? I am getting ready to start one of these and none of the instructions (Frog, AMT or any other) say how much ballast is needed. Any help out there or am I the only one attempting to build this dinosaur! Dave

I really wish Trumpeter would do some basic research. I just got the TA-3B and they are still putting the wrong canopy in the kits. The TA-3B has the bomber canopy in it. I had really hoped that they would get it right by now. The only right one so far is the A-3B bomber kit. The KA-3B had a variants canopy (with the heavier framing and the smaller hatch), when ALL the tankers and EKA-3B's were all converted from bombers with the lighter framing and the large sliding hatch on top. Hi, The Customs AEW are structurally the same, with the same reinforcing doubler plates. I know I worked on them for twenty years. Your bird had a generator on #1 engine to power the radar and test equipment. We didn't have that. We also tested the CEC equipment for awhile. I did one of these conversions for a friend of mine, had to scratch build the pylon also. He still has it displayed at his house. Nice job on your conversion! Hi all, New to this forum and seeking assistance. I'm hoping someone here has the instruction sheet for the original issue Airfix 1/48 Lightning F2A/F6. I bought one on Ebay and the instructions were missing (not mentioned in ad). I'm hoping a kind soul can scan and email them to me or possibly mail a copy.
