Spad
After continuing to work on the Mig-21 I also started this Super Hornet for a contest on a Italian models site. For me it is a model unpretentious, I'm dedicating it to the utmost of my attention because I have little free time during this period, but I'm still trying to do an acceptable job. The model is Hase in 48 with Wolfpach cockpit, Afterburner decals, tires and North Stars This is the real subject..... the pit does not need any modification work to place...... I assembled most of the loads and movable surfaces..... loads textured, painted and polished waiting to be completed...... Edited June 15, 2014 by Spad
Spad
fuselages closed with all its fillings and wheel bays OOB....... and finally the most colorful part of the model! The black in the photo does not seem smooth, it is only a reflection, I can assure you that it is extremely smooth.... I know that most of you are an expert on this model, be good with criticism:pray1::pray1::thumbs-up::thumbs-up:
VA-115EFR
You won't see any criticism from me. She's looking fabulous! Very clean work! I think you'll do VERY well in the contest!

Joel_W
A really nicely painted and weathered cockpit, and your loads came out exceptionally well. Since this is a contest model, I took a good long look at your tail surfaces, and they both can benefit with a darkish red pin wash for the red panel lines, and a slightly darkish gray for the panel lines through the black areas. Done right, it really will make those tails pop. Joel

Joel Thanks for the advice Joel, I will do the tests, if the effect I like it I will make the change! :)/>/> I just finished the nozzle, it's OOB, the light muted shades of color outside of them what you think of the effect within them? At this moment I am happy with it and I do not feel the lack of resins:) Edited June 15, 2014 by Spad
afterburner
Well done, sir! Great choice in markings and look forward to the completed bird!
andrew.deboer
Amazing! Beautiful! I am building this kit also and have one question: How do you fill your seams? I see thin white lines of filler inside the intakes and along some other seams. How do you do this?
Spad
Hello Andrew, I used the tamiya white putty for all the fillings, in most accessible areas I normally smoothed with sandpaper of increasingly finer in areas where it was not possible rather smooth with sandpaper, immediately after applying the putty, I used the cotton swab soaked with Gunze thinner for acrylics and I removed the excess of putty. Just repeat the process more than a couple of times to get a perfect result. I hope I explained myself, my English is not good

Spad
Stunning burners. What color did you use inside? And how did you mamage to do the little whit squares!! They really look awesome Hello Neo, the process is just a little long but not complicated! First of all I used a matte black throughout the interior, then I masked with thin strips of tape to the area between the different petals (I do not know the name in English of the inner part), below I've posted a photo of the same work done on the nozzle of an F-18C, after I sprayed Model Master Titanium and I have removed the tape strips. When it has dried, I polished it to make it smooth and then I sprayed over a coat of Model Master Sealer which made it all shiny. When it has dried I applied the decals that replicate the white squares and then after I sprayed all over the conduit of very diluted Tamiya medium gray to mix everything. I then used a matte black vallejo very diluted and with a thin brush I reproduced the small pieces missing or burned on the petals. When it dried, I used the pigment orange rust of the set C "Tamiya watheringn master" to give a slightly cooked. I hope I have been clear enough :(/> F-18C Exhaust Nozzle

Matt Walker
Interesting that the cockpit you've used doesn't have the ECS associated with the EA-18 Lot 26+ rear instrument panels. The pics of the Wolfpack set on Luckymodel show the ECS on the rear panel. Did you use the kit part for your model? Great work, keep it up! Thanks for sharing your tips, too! Spad
Thank you all, I'm glad you like my work. I will work for a short while on this model, then I leave for a month of holidays and begin the construction of 2 1/32 Italeri F-104G for a friend of mine, maybe I'll post the pictures of these two models :) Did you use the kit part for your model? The cockpit is a gift from a friend of mine who has taken only the rear instrument panels with ACS diplay for his Block26, with the cockpit Wolfpack, he gave me the rear instrument panels of his Aires set that it has no more used. ;)
