SteelWolf
On another site, I have two stealth aircraft dioramas in progress. I don't have the time to re-post everything here as I have to go to work soon, but here are the links: DARPA XST Competition http://www.whatifmodelers.com/index.php/topic,41250.0.html AURORA Top Secret aircraft http://www.whatifmodelers.com/index.php/topic,41251.0.html Tell me what you think. If you read both threads carefully, I have various questions that I need answers and opinions to. Any help is appreciated.
SteelWolf
Since nobody is going to reply to this thread, can I please get it locked or deleted? I feel like I wasted my time here. :(
Rich in name only
You didn't se the stealth replies? Actually folk don't click on links so much---they sometimes don't work and sometimes are a challenge for older computers---not to mention how much virus traffic there is these days. Try putting the photos right here too. They are your photos, not the sites. The rules about copying apply to other folk's stuff, not your own so it's okay. The first link looks like good results and a nice display. If a completed kit was on the second link, it didn't show but would be good for the "in progress" page. Anigrand kits can be interesting and if you find them good to work with there would be interest 'cause a lot of folk bad-mouth them here, sometimes with good reason. I've found them to be pretty straight-forward easy(ish) builds, with some subjects being good representations.
SteelWolf
@Rich: Both links do work. There hopefully shouldn't be any problems. Anyway........here is my almost finished diorama. I say "almost" because I am still waiting for some extra decal sheets to arrive from Anigrand. But anyway, tell me what you think. Hints, tips, suggestions, etc. Anything I should change or move? Should I switch the positions of the aircraft around? And last, but not least: How should this display be presented in a contest? Would it go in the Aircraft Category, the Diorama Category, or somewhere else?
ross blackford
:D, Hi SteelWolf,I visit ARC most days and sometimes if I'm on night or afternoon shift it might be several times a day. This is the first time I've seen your posts. Soemtimes it just takes a while for people to notice a new topic because they can be looking for something else in particular and so miss your posts, or mine for that matter. Don't become discouraged over this. It happens all the time, both here and on other sites. , Ross.
Andrew D. the Jolly Rogers guy
I'm sorry, I should have replied first time I saw...I am a huge XST story fan, and totally LOVE the display you did showing the complete competition!
Andrew D. the Jolly Rogers guy
Also, in answer to your last question, I think you've got them arranged very nicely. I don't think it would quite qualify as a diorama (I could be wrong) since that usually implies an actual, realistic setting--in a hangar, on the ramp parked, on the runway awaiting clearance, in flight, etc. I think in an IPMS contest your best bet would be in the "collection" category, which means 5 or more related items. I did this at nationals with my complete history of the Jolly Rogers squadron.
