I use to race Electric RC cars in the past but in Las Vegas there aren't many places to race, so I gave up RC racing and sold all my RC stuff and decided to start modeling. My father was in the Air Force and he use to fly F-15 and F-16 fighter jets. So you can understand why all of my models have been fighter jets and WWII fighter planes. I have always wanted to do a helicopter but I never got into them. UNTIL I saw a thread on a Huey where the damn thing was almost all scratch built and then, I decided to do a Helo. In the past 6 years, I have been watching other people build fantastic models and their techniques, and I have been buying all of the "stuff" that they use. I have gotten every glue part, every file, punch and die set, etc. BUT I have been a baby because I see people taking off a wing and use a resin replacement, and I get scared because some of the models that we buy are expensive. And I would never dare cut a Tamiya P-51 mustang apart because of the cost. BUT this time, I am going out of the box and I am going to start cutting stuff off and replacing things. Wish me luck!! Maybe because I don't have a lot of experience with PE, but I hate them. But if you want the extra detail, they area a must. And the parts are glued yet. So here are the pictures of the middle console and the parts behind the console. It is because I am not a great scratch builder or I wanted it that way. ): And here is the cabin back wall attached to my floor. The only thing that was disappointing was when I made the wholes in the floor, my punch and die set couldn't do all the holes on the same sheet. So I had to divide my floor into two parts. The piece with the holes, I followed the instructions and they said that the piece with the holes should be placed like this: But that is the reason why it is not glued yet. And I know you're cabin floor is not accurate. I remember people putting comments on your wip saying that the floor and roof is not accurate. I beleive in making accurate models and I don't have the skills to scratch build my models like you do. So if your cabin is not accurate or the roof is not accurate, It doesn't matter to me. Also, the gun you show above as a door gun, (35174, pictured below) is not correct for a US Army MH-60L Black Hawk as you intend to build. As Tim stated, it should have the other set (35173) on both sides in the gunners' windows. Don't use this one. Use this one on both sides.s Also, since you have already bought a few aftermarket items to spruce it up, I suggest getting the Werner's Wings Nightstalker decal sets. The kit decals are thick and way off in color. They are yellow and should be OD Green, as the Werner's Wings sets are. They look great. Lastly, here are a couple of images to show the difference as well. Standard US Army UH-60L Black Hawk US Army MH-60L Black Hawk as you are building. By adding the ESSS wings and extra weapons, you now have an MH-60L DAP (Direct Action Penetrator) gunship as in the incorrectly labeled Academy kit. The US Military doesn't use the AH (Attack Helicopter) designation with Black Hawks. An Attack Helicopter is specifically built to special standards like an AH-64 Apache. The reason why I labeled this as "The Fighter" is because I am use to doing model airplanes and I thought that it was a useful name for a helo. Ficticuos of course, but I thought the name was cool. :)/>/>/> And I will get the decals like you said because of the fact that the CC decals doesn't have aircraft specific marking.
