ENS. "Bones"
This is one of my dads favorite planes of all time.... I've never been a big fan of building prop planes, but I gotta tell you, I'm quickly changing my mind! Heres the cockpit for now, I think im still gonna add some stuff with some scratch building. I'm happy so far and cant wait to get back to her tomorrow. This build is dedicated to my dad who bought me my first model as a kid. Thank you! Thats it for now, but stay tuned... Liberator24
Legend has it there is an easier way for Tamiya..... pour glue in box, shake well, and remove... Glad to hear you are expanding. It is a great kit. Finishing up a 352nd now... -Jim

I washed the wood floor and added wires to the bettery in the back. And the interior of the side pannels... Working on her now... update later tonight!

ENS. "Bones"
Heres the update for tonight! Liborator24- your right, this kit just goes together! I havent had a single fit issue. Shes pretty much all together.... primed with zinc chromate and light preshade and first paint is on the agenda for tomorrow. As you can see below, there is one slight fit seam I need to fix but doesnt look difficult. Other than that its game time for paint. Here are the photos for tonight.... She will be inflight battle with a BF-109 by Airfix when completed, so ive closed the wheel bays for flight. Wing seams were near perfect with no filler needed. Except for one VERY small fix needed. And one final shot for tonight.... Thanks for looking and following!
dahut
Looks sharp. Don't see many in-flight displays; seems to be a forgotten art.
ENS. "Bones"
Decent update to report this late night... Cockpit and pilot complete and all closed up for paint! Since this is a Tuskeege Airman Red Tails P-51, the pilot got a little more attention than normal. Did the best I could.... Unfortunately, the pics make him look a little bronze, but hes really not. After very very careful preshading, I am VERY pleased with the outcome of the main paint. (Paint used MM acrylic Silver (sg) #4678) Hopefully tomorrow I'll be adding the signature colors to this bird! Stay tuned..... Comments and critiques welcome!
