  1. I have been looking for a while, google etc but can't seem to find any decals for the Sabres that were based at Shepherds Grove near Bury St Edmunds East Anglia. I'm so far building in 1/72; Weathersfield Thunderjet and F-100 Bentwaters based Voodoo and Thunderstreak Now I just wanted to add a Sabre from Sheperds Grove to complete the colorful collection If anyone can help or direct me to where I can obtain decals for Shepherds Grove based Sabres in 1/72 I would really appreciate it. I know that they were based there only briefly but I do think they were an important aspect of the USAF's
  2. Phantastic! Just love those Japanese color schemes! Martin
  3. What's happened to your pics? Can't see them? Was looking forward to that! Martin
  4. The original intention was to build a collection of RAF Mustangs through the various versions used. More air show inspiration! Also had to buy their T Shirt at Waddington, then found that the designer of the T Shirt had produced these decals. This is the Revell 1/72 kit More air show inspiration via The Fighter Collection, not the first time I have built a Duxford based bird. The very nice Revell 1/72 Mk.Vb with some Eduard, Master Hispano's and some aftermarket decals for color accuracy. And finally a quick one I did during a weeks holiday. First time I tried that EZ line stuf
  5. Only recently made finishing touches to a couple of builds. Some of which have been sitting on the shelf half finished while I have been starting new ones. This was the first finished in 2013 - Hobby Boss kit with KP decals & Pavla cockpit/canopy. Italeri 1/72 Mustang 1 with scratch built oblique camera and aftermarket decals. 1/72 Airfix Mustang with Kitsworld decals Then the Marivox/Heller Vampire Mk.1 conversion, with some rescribing and hacking! No coincidence with the 70th Anniversary. :)/>/> Inspired from seeing Bud Anderson at Duxford earlier in the year
  6. Hi Arnaud, it is noticeably a funny shape compared to the real thing. It would be a challenge to make your own former if you was to create a vacform of it, or even a crash form. Here's a pic of my results, this is the first time that I have ever done that, rather proud of myself. Only I now wish I had taken a photo of it before I started! This the stage I'm at with the kit. I've just superglued the rear canopy section and decided to do a clean up around it. Just started masking before I paint round the framing and area around the canopy. Should have started a build thread shouldn't I!
  7. Hi everybody, you have all been very helpful and cheers ChernayaAkula, that thread had helped me decide once & for all. The canopies of the Hasegawa & Revell kits are incompatible with one another, so I thought I would try and fix what I thought were imperfections in the clear plastic. It turned out that there were loads of scratches on the inside and outside of the canopy. I honestly thought they were cracks, as it had come straight out of the box like that. I put it through the micromesh treatment going through all the grades & the liquid abrasive, plus a coat of Klear. It's
  8. Hi guys, I'm currently building the Revell 1/72 F-16C as the F-16AM. I'm doing the Belgian Solo Display aircraft. Just taken a look at the clear injected canopy and found that it has quite a few molding imperfections in it. They look like little cracks. Anyway I'm off to Hannants tomorrow and noticed that they do a vacform canopy by Rob Taurus for the Hasegawa 1/72 kit. Can anybody tell me if this fits? Thanks, in anticipation. Martin
  9. Hi Jim, if you do visit, it seems that mother nature nearly always provides some superb weather! I would love to do a summer tour of the big airshows round the US, now that would be a dream holiday - packing a very large amount of memory cards & batteries! Martin
  10. Hi geedubelyer many thanks for your kind comments! I have been taking airshow pics for the past 6 years & I reckon that side on shot of the Spitfire is one of my best. Still slowly learning new techniques & trying to get the best out of the gear that I have. Some time I'll start a few of my model builds on here. I've been a member of the ARC forums for a few years now, but hardly ever get involved as life keeps getting in the way! Cheers dude! Martin
  11. Many thanks, most appreciated! I never fail to attend a Duxford show, but I don't normally share my pics on forums, simply because work & life keep getting in the way! Since you liked that Mk.1a Spitfire I reckon you might like these! Thanks for looking. Regards Martin
  12. Saw this merry chappy providing an extra musical dimension to the proceedings Martin
  13. Went to the Saturday show and what a day it was. A clear day, and extremely hot. Quite a few toddlers & elderly suffering the heat and plenty seemed to be going early after seeing the Vulcan. Superb variety on display & the first time I managed to get to see the inside of an AN-2 which was a treat. Martin
