I have built both the Academy 1/48 F-86 and P-40B with the kit decals. Walthers Solvaset made the decals lay down perfectly.

It might not be quite what you are after, but, the company Moeller does make a self etching zinc chromate primer in yellow and green. They are 12 oz spray cans and sell for about $10.00 USD.

Very nicely done. $14.00 well spent I should say.
