  1. If you want to go over the top - get the Flightpath upgrade set (www.djparkins.clara.net/fltpath/fpmaster.htm) which would have everything you need. Great Models stocks their stuff but it's not cheap. Many forum members think his stuff is too fiddly but I've got his Jaguar kit and the photoetch and resin pieces are superb quality. YB
  2. Gerade, I'd like to see pictures of that configuration if you've got them. YB
  3. Guys, I am wondering if Jaguars ever used multiple gravity bombs on the central line. I remember seeing a set up in the 70's using 2-3 1000lb bombs on the central line (Airfix artwork I think). While I know this wouldn't make sense for cluster bombs, could this set-up be used on the GR3? Pictures would be helpful for Jag loads. YB
  4. Guys, Just wondering if nail polish cleaner will work the same for red putty as it does with the white stuff. While I have thinned with Testors glue, I got nervous when the lacquer cleaner started making marks on the wings I was filling seams with. Had to remind myself that it will destroy plastic if left on for long. YB
  5. Guys, As previously mentioned, I'm getting back into modeling after a 2 year hiatus. One thing I discovered is that my trusty Badger paint mixer is missing parts - again the dreaded clean-up of the cellar "she who must be obeyed" has struck again!!! I cannot seem to find a replacement so what systems (other than cocktail sticks) does the forum use. I use mainly MM and Humbrol tins. Thanks, YB
  6. Thanks Squeezer:thumbsup: This is a great resource to check shape & panel lines. Are there major differences in fuselage between GR1 & 3? Pity I can't read Russian. YB
  7. Guys, I'm starting to build a 1/48 Airfix GR3 Jaguar and suddenly realized that this isn't going to be easy. The lower fuselage panel lines are non existent at best & not symmetrical (at worse) so it looks like I will have to use my re-scribing tool. Does anyone know where I can download 1/48 scale panel planes so I can start to map out what has to be done? Thanks, YB
  8. I'm starting my new project - 1/48 Airfix Jaguar GR 3A & putting together the paints I need. Naturally the instructions are in Humbrol numbers so I'm translating them. No problem with Dark Sea Grey (164) but what is closest to Dark Camo Grey (156)? I have Humbrol Barley Grey (167), Dark Gull Grey (MM), Medium Sea Grey (MM), Light Ghost Grey (MM), Light Aircraft Grey (MM) so which one is closest? Thanks, YB
  9. Thanks for the offer. We're both in PA (I'm in Downingtown) so I'm postage isn't too high. Drop me a line to YB Email so we can sort out the details. YB
  10. Hammerhead, Thanks for the clarification. Looks like I'm back waiting on Hasegawa for the replacement parts unless someone out there has a trashed FG Mk2. I tried Revell website but their FGR Mk2 isn't listed. YB
  11. So looking at the AirDoc replacement stabs, am I to assume that the stabs are the same for B/C/D/E & FGR Mk 2? If so, I could see if Hasegawa could send me a replacement part from either one of the versions. True?
  12. I appreciate the offer, I look forward to hearing any good news. You mentioned that spare stabs are available from Victory Models & AirDoc. Spare parts or upgraded after market sets? YB
  13. Hammerhead, Thanks for the suggestion. Dragon (Hasegawa US Distributors) said that they need to order from Japan as they don't have it in stock. No guarantees that it's in their stores but the Revell option is a good one. Yellowbelly
  14. Hi guys, Yellowbelly is back after an 18 month sabbatical from modeling. I'm wondering where I can get a spare stabilizer for a Phantom FGR Mk 2 1/48. My wife cleaned up the cellar and it's disappeared. Much internal swearing as this the Rhino that I put up on gallery. It's the left hand (looking from the front) which is either part K1 or K2. I did leave a message with Dragon's website but this kit may be out of stock. I looked at my stash and the F4 J and FG Mk 1 rear stabilizers are slated while the Phantom FGR Mk 2 are not. If you can't get Phantom FGR Mk 2 anymore, what Hasegawa
