Jennings Posted October 4, 2014 Share Posted October 4, 2014 It's quite a nice kit. I've got two, but haven't started on them. Problem areas are few, but one fairly biggie is the shape of the bullet fairing on top of the fin. They just flat got it wrong. Not easy to fix unless you remove it completely and make a new one. I noticed that the sprue and non-labeling of parts are very similar to the practice of Modelsvit. (I'm currently building the 1/72 Tu-144.) Are the two companies associated in any way. Just curious. What's your take on Amodel decals? They look pretty good on the paper, but I have no experience on how they perform. Does the -134 share wheels with any other jets/liners? Flankerman Posted October 22, 2014 Share Posted October 22, 2014 I've just finished the Amodel Beech Starship - and the decals were superb. Dense colouring, but thin and they went on no trouble at all. I've never had any trouble with Amodel decals - and I've used a few. Same goes for Modelsvit - their massive decal sheets for their An-124 were very comprehensive and well printed. Even the smallest stencils were readable...... Although I have to say that the decals in their new VVA-14 broke up when I tried to apply them - but a spray coat of varnish soon sorted them out. Thats unusual in my expereience with them. Ken PS - I think Amodel and Modelsvit are the same guys - whether an offshoot or not I can't say - but the style of moulding, printed instructions etc are exactly the same.
