Greetings all,

I just finished a display using this carrier. Can anyone tell me what scale it might be ??, she measures 8 3/4" long. Thanks.

Steve

I´d say that the model is waaaaay too small for 1/804 scale. I have an aircraft carrier in 1/700 and ithas a length of about one foot at least!

Btw, very nice build!

A couple of my modeling buddies seem to think she's around 1/1250th ?? Dose this sound correct ?

Thanks HAJO.

Actually by calculation it is 1 : 1467.

1070' x 12" = 12,840" / 8.75" = 1467.428571428571 give or take an inch.

That's close 'cause there may just possibly maybe be someone out there who may have an uncontrollable desire to dispute the ship's length, at least to the significant digits represented by the scale figure.

If you can believe any of that.

Thanks for the info Rich. I'm asking because I'd like to add some jets to the flightdeck. I think it looks a little silly empty.

Steve

That is not the Kitty Hawk it is the Kennedy. The exhaust stack and flight deck configuration are different than the Kitty Hawk's.

The rear deck on the port side is more of a Kennedy configuration. The

Kittyhawk had a jog in it. Scale is close to 1/1500 I would guess. Put

a 67 decal on the flight deck and all is well.---John
