Notice how shiny those exhausts are on Poe's ship.

In the above I'd say a dark gunmetal.

Movie prop above looking metallic grey to me.

In TFA books that I have and based on the picks above (there are others out there) I'd say you can't go wrong with metallic grey/gunmetal with staining.

Thanks Don!

Was starting to lean that way myself, especially if I was doing Poe's....except I'm interested in the light gray/blues, and I'm finding stuff like this:

I know it's a prop, but still...I'm wondering more if that's the way I should go for a "line bird"....

To be honest I think its going to come down to whatever your preference is. That's what's nice about sci-fi models as there really is no right or wrong within reason. Personally the clean (prop) look doesn't look right...too toy like to me. I personally like the gunmetal/metallic grey exhaust cans with at least some staining working its way up each of the four engine nacelles (vary the staining for each engine for visual interest). Besides, the Resistance wasn't much different then the Rebellion in that equipment and materials were used...and used hard. So to me (personal opinion here) there wouldn't be too much concern over having clean equipment as opposed to working equipment... if that makes sense.

Anyways, I am probably rambling and not much help. Good luck!
