Here's the Hasegawa Blackbird I built a few years ago, granted no longer doing photo or radar recce duties. But it was pulling "recon" duty of a different sort while trying to gather data on different environments.

Here's a little inspiration for those who like classic recon aircraft! This is a model of the first Lockheed U-2C to take off and land on an aircraft carrier (hence the base). It is an Airfix U-2C kit in 1/72 with modified intakes, air scoops, resin cockpit with the canopy cut open and painted overall in the dark blue used at the time.

Have fun modeling!

Here's the old Hawk/Testors U-2C built up several years ago. Pretty plain Jane.

And this is the newer U-2R/TR-1 kit built up at the same time. The canopy had broken off and was just laying in place so it looks kind of off kilter in the pics.

And this is my last inspirational build that was done up as a commission build which I managed to get back. It's the Monogram 1/48 F-101B kit converted to RF-101C using the Koster Vac conversion. Koster also provided some really nice resin burner cans and a crystal clear vac canopy. Decals were out of the spares bin.
