    Ummm, modeling in 1/72, Airsoft
  1. Thanks guys, now I know what colors to pick up to support my newly formed Eagle obsession.
  2. Hey ARC, last time I logged on was 2006, and I have just stepped back to modeling by building up a 1/72 AMT F-15c with the Gulf War "Gulf Spirit" box and decal option. At first I was just going to do a quck build with no real eye to accuracy but seeing all the good work on here has changed my mind. Ok onto my question, what are the appropriate paint colors for the various schemes the F-15 has worn? Through the search function have found that there is the light ghost and dark ghost pattern, but what colors for the Mod Eagle and Compass schemes?
  3. Be careful! My Revell P-47, from the firewall back, got incorporated into my workbench, after I thought I had just squeezed a little thin Jet dow the ventral fuse. seam.
  4. I guess Im just adding to the confusion here. I really like that Testors grey tube putty, it doesn't stink all that bad, and it works really great with the "sanding-less seam filling". After I rub the putty flat on the gap, I use a thick coat of paint on top of that to fill in the small amount of shrinkage, and to check the seam, then I polish. I only ever use CA when I need to fill a major gap, where the surfaces aren't even close enough to be cemented together.
  5. I heard that the police use Coke to clean up the road after traffic accidents. Im sticking to Dr. Pepper.
  6. You don't need to thin MM acrylics. They get all runny when I thin them. I use them un-thinned with no problem through my Badger 200 at a relatively low pressure.
  7. oh yeah, Tenax! At first this stuff smelled kinda bad, but I can't smell it anymore.......hmmm. I use a small brush to apply it. Since I started building 1/35 and 1/72 armor, I use Testors non-toxic glue (in the blue tube). Now I swear by this stuff! It smells like oranges, and dries rock hard(and doesn't get all stringy like the old tube glue). I use the orange stuff to join parts, then I go over the joint with the Tenax. I won't use anything with fumes. So its acrylics, non-toxic glue, etc. No metalizers! No tamiya cement! Stinky.
  8. Let's hear it for Tamiya Tape!!!!!!!! Who does not love that stuff?
  9. Good idea, if all the liquid comes out on some of the more complex wheel wells, it would sure beat tissue paper.
