  1. Hi, I'm looking for the main canopy part for a 1/48 F-105D. Hobby Boss, Monogram or Revell, anything will work :) Thanks
  2. Small metal screwdriver (flat). It holds a good one to two drops every time I dip it into paint. & as it's metal I can wipe it dry before the paint dries or simply scrape the paint off once it's dry. Low tech but far less hassle then stuffing around with a dropper. I sometimes even use a toothpick to transfer a drop of paint from the jar to the airbrush...
  3. giving certain points a quick rub with your finger will do the same thing as it leaves a little bit of your skin oil on the high spots. Or a quick buff with a soft cloth
  4. I drill an anchor hole into (not all the way through) the surface, put superglue in the hole and then stick the end of the ezyline in the hole. works for me
  5. Mixing acrylic paint with a bit of acrylic medium or similar turns it into a 'glaze' which is exactly the effect you're looking for. It definitely works with water based acrylics like Citadel or Vallejo & I assume would work with tamiya/ gunze but they do have a different makeup. Experimentation is your friend. These threads are mainly aimed art paintings but may help http://www.art-is-fun.com/acrylic-glazes.html http://painting.about.com/od/acrylicpainting/a/glazing_tips_BR.htm btw, those FWs are beautiful!!

    Scalpels

Proper 'surgical' scalpel blades are sharper than the excel hobby blades but the hobby blades are stronger. Swann&Morton are high quality at ~23c (Aus) a blade for 100 http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/SWANN-MORTON-ONE-STOP-SHOP-FOR-STERILE-SCALPEL-BLADES-x-100-ALL-PATTERNS-/350853983382?pt=AU_Medical_Special_Needs&var=&hash=item51b086ec96 You can get other, cheaper ones for around the 15-20c for 100 also from ebay.
  7. The bird-slicer blades on the Hornet are quite different to those on the F-16. This page gives some dimensions you can use to scratch them: http://www.clubhyper.com/reference/raafhornetpg_1.htm Also, the ones on the Hasegawa 'M' sprue are way too short so scratch building them is your best bet.

    Scalpels

scalpel handles and blades can be purchased from ebay. They're very easy to get hold of. I actually use scalpel blades in both an old xacto type handle and in a proper scalpel handle. I use them for just about everything bar cutting PE and extra thick chunks of plastic. I've only ever broken 1 through too much pressure.
  9. This sheet also has lots of them: http://www.aircraftresourcecenter.com/IndNews1/101-200/118/00.shtm
