Does anybody have any close up pics of the TH-67?

Exterior, interior, cockpit, IP, etc? I've looked all over the net and can't find any GOOD shots of the helicopter!

Thanks!

Tim

Tim,

Here is what I have for the 67. Not much I'm afraid. However, if the TH-57 is really as similar as it looks (see last pic), I have a complete walkaround of it including cockpit shots. Just let me know if you want them.

They are both basic Bell 206B3 Jet Ranger III helicopters with Allison/Rolls Royce 250C20 J or R engines.

The instrument trainers have the dual generator set up, plain ol' Vanilla jet rangers.

Are based out of Rucker?if so, is there any way maybe you could get some shots of the IFR equipped instrument panels and the controls? If so, that would be great. Rotor wash has some pics of a Navy TH-57 he's gonna send me to use for reference. This idea started of with me building a TV news chopper, but I'm liking this Creek thing more and more!

Tim,

The Rucker IP's call the TH-67 the "Flying Creamsicle" because of the gaudy color scheme. Should look great on a contest table.

Ray, I got your pic file, but my eye-phone keeps telling me that Safari is unable to download file. I'll try to DL the file on my computer at home later this week and see if it works. Thanks for sending them to me anyway!

Now that Italeri will re issue  their 206 in 1/48, i might built this one.

Tim, i would go with semi gloss white and international orange.

All the clear parts seems they are tinted with blue, you can use Tamiya clear blue very thinned. For the upper glass (aka greenhouse), use Tamiya clear green or Testors clear green, both works well.

Main rotor mast and hub are painted aircraft gray FS16473, main blades satin black lower surface, semi gloss white upper surface

Tail rotor blades semi gloss white with semi gloss black stripes. Mast and hub a mix of aircraft gray and natural metal parts.

The interior is a mix of civilian gray paint and aircraft interior black, mostly on instrument panel, seats and walls, the black is almost on the cockpit area.

Ray, during my research for my model, I've learned that the Creek has crashworthy seats. Is their anyway you or your mechanic friend have any pics of these seats by chance.

So far, I've not found any pics of these seats.

I can ask, Tim.  I never actually got up close to a 67 and took pics believe it or not.  I hope we get one at the Army Aviation Museum.  If we do, I should eb able to get any pics you need there.

Ok, so shortly, I will be starting a build of the TH-67 I've wanted to do for a few years. I've decided to title the thread TH-67 "Nickel ride".

It's going to be a diorama of a Creek on the flightline, but I'm not sure about the rest. The base will be a wooden base with the US Army Flight School Center patch on the right corner with Army Aviators wings on the left corner while the middle will have a plate that says "US Army Flight School TH-67 Creek "Nickel Ride"

Here's where I would like your guys input.

I have 3 ideas for the dio

1) The helo sitting on the flightline

with both pilot's doors open with 2 figures (IP and student) standing in front of the nose in flight gear.

2) Both pilots seated in the cockpit with doors open like its getting ready to start.( Hopefully the Reedoak seated pilots will fit with a little modding)

3) Somehow have the helo in the air a little of the bsde at an odd angle like the student just took control .

What do you guys think?

Yes, it will be a slow build as usual!

I would go with the option of the two pilots posing in front of the helicopter, and the bird with the pilot doors open. Are you using the revell jet ranger kit? If so, that kit has a big issue and its the windshield, its very weird.

Please post your build, would love to see it!
