  1. Sorry, seems to have ended same day it was listed. http://www.ebay.com/itm/Paragon-1-48-S-3-Viking-Wing-Fin-Fold-Mechanisms-4866-/121647210102?nma=true&si=PzhrFO7qTvSJtUCIo3R%252FHbOuS7Y%253D&orig_cvip=true&rt=nc&_trksid=p2047675.l2557
  2. FYI there is a Paragon wing and tail fold set on eBay currently if you want to give it a shot.
  3. I am currently finishing the old ESCI version and have started the Italeri one. Between the two, I believe I have most of the aftermarket for the S-3. The only difference between the two kits are the decals, the color of plastic (white v grey) and the tinted canopy. Jennings is correct about the tint of the canopy on the ESCI kit, its almost black. The newer one is better, but I still got the squadron one as not the entire window is tinted, only the side windows have the dark tinting. The cockpit in each kit is pretty plain with both represented with decals. I used Edwards detail set for
  4. I have been working on this off and on and I have finally decided to try and get it done. Here are some updated shots of where i am. All the bay and weapons doors now on an overall shot of the upper surfaces. The blue is not as dark as it is shown in these pictures. All the decals have been applied and sealed with a flat coat. currently working on the window wipers, lights and getting ready to attach the engines and pylons. I hope the next update will not be so far into the future.
  5. Hawk Graphics do both hi and low-viz hull numbers. I usually get mine from freetime hobbies. http://www.freetimehobbies.com/RSD3508/
  6. White Ensign makes a pe set with the new propellers for the E-2 https://www.whiteensignmodels.com/p/WEM+1350+Grumman+E2C+Hawkeye+Details+Revised+PE+35162/13772/#.Us2uYp5dXng
  7. Here is a quick update of where I'm at. I finished the engines and put the main gear on. and sitting on its own legs I am currently working on installing the gear and bay doors, and should have another update soon. Thanks for looking!
  8. For the blue I started with Model Master flanker medium blue, then added amounts of Model Master 35109 Blue till I got somthing that seemed close. If I remember right, the first time I sprayed it I didn't like it and added more of the regular blue. I started out at the 10:1 ratio and went from there. Its mostly just adding blue till you get somthing you like. The blue seems to be a little different in all the pictures I've seen, so its just a matter of getting a shade you like. Hope this helps.
  9. I had started this build last year for the group build, but got sidetracked by a few events and wasn't able to complete it in time. Here is a link to the beginning. http://www.arcforums.com/forums/air/index.php?showtopic=229962 I have continued of the build since then and decided to move it here. Here I started masking for the walkways. I first sprayed Mr Surfacer 500 to give it some texture, followed by black, to hopefully have it stand out a little. Then on with the main painting Here you can barely make out the walkway Starting on the landing gear and weapons bays
  10. I just got an email saying Tamiya's fine white surface primer is back in stock at Sprue Brothers. Hopefully this will mean the end of the shortages.
  11. Small update, put the resin stabilizer on, attached the canopy (a pain) and started painting! canopy on and masked Resin stabilizer attached flat gull grey on the bottom of the wings, I lightened the grey a little with some white The first try on the blue. Was actually pretty happy with how it looks, but I decided to lighten it some to get it closer to the pictures. I saw what Brian showed how the blue is supposed look with the paint chip, but I felt that looked too dark compared to the pictures I've seen. I know its probably lighting or somthing, but I think having it a lighter
