  3. I think I'm going to do an update set for the longer nacelles and the leading edge root change. The kit is correct for early (WWII) era machines but not for post-war machines.
  4. Attached is a combination drawing of the schemes included on the next Belcher Bits decal sheet for the C-45 Expeditor. Some Canadian content for sure but also wartime personal transport for General Vandergrift and post-war USMC and USAF machines. Coming soon from Belcher Bits. http://www.belcherbits.com/images/decals/combo%20bd29.pdf
  5. Well, I also beg to differ! Belcher Bits has been producing decals for at least a decade and cover a wide range of Canadian subjects. Printed by Microscale, these are high quality products, carefully researched with informative instruction sheets. Please check out the selection at www.belcherbits.com Thanks Mike Belcher
  6. Well, the cuts look complex, but really aren't too bad. I have done it just as I described in the instructions. The step at the top and bottom of the fuselage is a little less than 1/32", well within the thickness of the fuselage shell, so it will be easy enough to file and sand out with very little filler. One thing which worked well for me was to glue in some 1/16" strip behind the horizontal parts of the cut on the forward section. When that was solid and dry, simply slid the tail half on. It makes the side joint flush, just some filler required in the gap. The cut ahead of the wing was qui
  7. You need to start with the KV-107 variant as the basis for most Canadian machines. To build any but the earliest Labradors, you will need my APU tail as well, or rob it from your CH-46D kit. Sorry :( Mike Belcher
  8. Guys I am on the road in the UK at the moment and will be updating my website when I return in a week. The CS2F conversion is brand new, first sold at Telford. The part number is BB33, price is $31.99. It includes correct nacelle ends and short span tail planes. mike Belcher
  9. Sorry, Hobby Centre did not get any Battalion Bits because I was completely sold out after the US Nationals and had no time to make more before leaving on holidays. Contact me after mid-September when I will be ramping up production again. Thanks Mike Belcher
  10. Gerald; That was work ... sort of  This is a REAL holiday, sitting looking out over the water, waiting for a rainy day so I can do some modelling. Mike
  11. Yeah, what he said! ... although I'd rather have a nicely detailed H-19 than a CH-54. Lots more opportunity for colourful schemes (and conversion possibilities for Belcher Bits!). The old Revell kit is actually very accurate in outline, but horribly detailed for interior and rotor head. ... and bring back the H-34 / Westland Wessex kits, too.
  12. Kevin's not stepping on my toes, just faster on his feet than I am! Just released is BD19, my 1/48 Labrador/Voyageur & Chinook sheet. This 1-1/2 sheet set provides Canadian markings for any operational Labrador/Voyageur from when they entered RCAF service in 1964 until the retirement in 2002. It also provides markings for CAF Chinooks from 1975 until 1991. CAF Labradors can be built from the Academy KV-107 kit; Voyageurs from the latest CH-46A kit. Italeri has promised a CH-47C Chinook for the fall which should be a better representation of Canadian machines than the current (A)CH-47A.
  13. Gotta be careful with interpretation of colours, even from colour pictures. That photo sure looks like dark grey, but I have only seen Griffons in two green camo ... I'm betting that 'grey' in the photo is really the darker olive drab. Mike Belcher, Belcher Bits
