I was last summer invited to the mediadays in zeltweg and it is definitely confirmed: we have purchased centerlinetanks with installed fuelpumps, but we must update the software of the typhoon fuelsystem. It is sure, platter cancelled the tanks, but you need tanks for testing the fuelsystem, the computer must "see" a tank on the aircraft for a complete test of the system. Now we have the tanks, but we cannot use them, because we are waiting for the softwareupdate. BTW, our typhoons where delivered without tanks, the delivery flight last only 20 min.

The Austrian AF Typhoons has external Tanks in its inventory and they were used in trainingflights and CAP missions like the world economic forum in Davos. The Tanks are also needed for the test of the fuelsystem on the ground.

They can solve the problem with the exhaust like the MiG-29 Bellytank. A tube through the tank.

You can put wet newspaper on the carwindows, that works fine, believe me.

the twinseater Gripen has no Gun installed.

The austrian Typhoon`s are equiped with one IRIS-T and loaded Canon. for long range CAP (WEF-world economic forum) they have a centerline fueltank. endurance without tank for trainingflight- 45-50min. with tank 1.5 hrs we use only one IRIS-T for maintenance-reasons. the missile needs maintenance when it`s on the aircraft. sorry for my bad english.
