aemkaei
Hei all, I'm mainly a rotor guy, so I hope you that you´ll be nice to me! I'm building the 1:72 Hasegawa Viking and I thought that I might arm it with a couple of Harpoons. But where are they carried? On the underwing pylons or in the weapons bay? viper50
The Harpoon was wing mounted on a pylon. Other ordance, bombs, torpedoes were carried in the bomb bay. I'll see if I can find a pic to post. Don M. http://www.midwaysaircraft.org/acft/s3.htm Edited September 30, 2007 by viper50
Andre
Apart from Harpoon, the wing hardpoints carry Mk 80 series bombs, Quickstrike mines and Rockeys as well. Another item seen a lot on the wing is the Douglas D-704 (?) buddy refueling pod. Aslo, I think the Hasegawa kit actually represents an S-3A, which were not Harpoon capable - there's an excellent article highlighting the changes needed for a 'B at: http://www.clubhyper.com/reference/updatin...rvikingbs_1.htm HTH, Andre HTH, Andre
otis252
If I'm not mistaken, they can carry the Maverick missile as well. Chuck
