I had a guy who was in the RCAF 402 Squadron in the late 50s ask me to do a Mustang he worked on. He gave me the 1/18 scale "Flying Undertaker" P-51 in USAAF markings to start with...

I sanded off the markings...

and repainted it with Testors Metallic Silver spray can paint.

And here we are after applying the CanMilAir Decals.

And here we are in flight...

You may wonder what the dark stripe on the left wing is...well, the guy I did it for was 18 at the time, and was mopping the floor with Varsol, and he flopped the mop over the wing and dragged it back across it, leaving a very noticable dark streak on it. When I asked why he did it, he replied "I was 18!". That pretty well summed it up...

I really cannot say enough good things about the decals from CanMilAir. He was really fast to get them to me, he did the specific number of aircraft I requested, and they settled down on metallic silver paint, which is a real bear to work with. Even after a topcoat of gloss spray, the carrier film barely was visible, and being as I was a bit rushed doing this, the carrier was left around the registry codes instead of trimming them back all the way. I was pleasantly surprised to see they worked out as nice as they did. The "City of Winnipeg" logo on the cowling also went down perfectly. Frankly, I was terrified to apply a yellow decal over black, but he had it based over white decal, and as a result, there was no bleedthough of the black. Absolutely fantastic!
