MiG31
That's a bit pricey for what is a basic kit. One would have to scratch or kitbash detail parts like cockpit and undercarriage to complete it, and that's not considering the quality of the resin or the kit's accuracy. That said, I'd love to get my hands on a 1:72 T10-1.
janman
That could be an interesting kit although better (close-up) photos would desperately be needed.
Deino
That could be an interesting kit although better (close-up) photos would desperately be needed. To be honest ... it looks too much like a massive block of resin !! http://www.unicraft.biz/on/t10/t10.htm Deino
MiG31
I've considered plans to convert an Encore Su-27 into the T10-1, but this resin kit has the potential to make things easier. The price is what puts me off, though, since it's a bit much for what would amount to be a donor kit. Jan, aside from the photos on your T10 build article, do you have any photos that show how you converted the Academy kit? The wings look like they'd need a lot of attention, to say nothing about the landing gear.
MiG31
I had another look at the parts photos, and I wish they had flipped them over to show the ventral detail. I wonder if they've done anything for the wheel wells or intakes.
Laurent
I had another look at the parts photos, and I wish they had flipped them over to show the ventral detail. I wonder if they've done anything for the wheel wells or intakes. From what I understand, they don't provide a lower fuselage half so you'll need to sacrifice a Su-27 kit to build the Unicraft kit. The fact that they don't suggest what Su-27 plastic kit to use suggests that the amount of work will be pretty interesting. Edited February 2, 2010 by Laurent
neffan01
This resin kit is very interesting, but for experienced modeller . . . I'm working on it. . . ;) for missing parts (cockpit and wheels) I will use Italeri or Nakotne parts....Wait and see....
pookie
To be honest ... it looks too much like a massive block of resin !!http://www.unicraft.biz/on/t10/t10.htm Deino ;) I am glad these guys make mostly 1/72 kits. I would be nearly broke if they were 1/48. I want one of each of the first list.

Neffan01, I'll be getting one of these kits - well I have to, don't I ??? ;) I've made Unicraft resin kits before -and they need a lot of work, but no matter. Does the kit contain an underside - with engine intakes and trunking ?? Or have they to be found from a donor kit - as Laurent says ?? Can you post some photos ?? In the meantime - here's the beast at Monino - after a fresh coat of paint.... There's another one (the tenth prototype) at Lugansk, Ukraine.... neffan01
Intakes yes, but they need a lot of work ... I will send photo of parts ASAP .....
MiG31
I do think there's something on the underside of that main fuselage part, given that it's sitting higher than the forward fuselage piece. Whether that something is a pair of intakes or a blob of resin remains to be seen.

If you send me the photos (I sent you my email) I can put them on my website - and put a link to them for all to see. Cheers Ken

MiG31
I can't say that their parts breakdown inspires confidence. Ken, et al, what do you make of the nacelle contours?
Laurent
Aah so the lower fuselage half is there along with the intakes. It wasn't obvious when looking at the pics on the website. This kit looks more like a desktop model kit than a scale model kit. A bit too rough for me.
Flankerman
I can't say that their parts breakdown inspires confidence. Ken, et al, what do you make of the nacelle contours? I've been looking for an appropriate underside plan view in all my refs - but nothing fits the bill. From the drawings, the curves do look a bit exagerated - particularly in plan view - but I will reserve judgement. It is a 'must have' for me - despite the renowned crudity and price of Unicraft kits. Once finished, it should make an interesting companion to my new Su-35 - sort of first and last Flankers. MiG31
I've got a Zvezda (ex-Encore) Su-27 earmarked to convert to a T10-1, but I may still buy this monster if it means less work to make the wings, tail spine and cockpit section.
