What was that metallic material you used on lower surfaces and why?

Upper surfaces - Mr.Color C124 Dark Green (Mitsubishi), lower - Mr.Color C35 IJN Gray (Mitsubishi).
Metallic material - aluminium foil. By this I imitated the bottom plating wing fuel tanks.
