My condolences for purchasing the Trumpeter weapons set. Practically all the missiles and bombs in the set are inaccurate. However, I can help you with the load outs.

The Trumpeter set has the same weapons that come with Su-27 an Mig-29 1/32 right?

Robert,
Thanks for the help with the load-out. I've never been overly concerned with minor accuracy discrepancies. How bad are they? So, based on that, I'm going to stick Kh-31Ps (and their pylons) on stations 9 and 10 just because they look cool and my Flanker is an Su-30/35 wannabee. I call it "airshow static display load-out". (Don't tell anyone!) I bought the weapon set because I wanted to throw on some air-to-ground ordnance and got a good deal on the kit. I'm going to review your drawings and reconsider. Thanks again. Chris |

I'm not sure I'd say that - the R-27s that were in the MiG-29s were much improved over what were included in the Su-27 - and those are the ones included in the weapons set. They're not perfect, but they are an upgrade over what's included in the Su-27. I didn't think the AG stuff was THAT bad. |

Ok, guys. I am in the process of scanning and photographing the Trumpeter parts. They will be compared to the best drawings and and photos I have of the armament in question. I'm not just shootin' fire out my butt. They really should have done a better job on the armament with all the available reference on the subject.
Please be patient. I'm working on it... |

No question they could be better - I was just pointing out a small point about the R-27s and the improvement from the Su-27 to MiG-29 - as for your comparisons - I'm not sure I want to see them |

Bump
I've edited my previous entries and restored most of the pictures I had posted on this thread. I recieved several e-mails about it and saw a thread asking about the missing pictures here recently. If any of you who had pictures posted here could restore them it would be appreciated (Especially your in-progress pictures Ken!) Here are links to some of the Su-27 builds here at ARC. Some were finished and some weren't and need to be re-started. I've seen a few of the threads resurface lately and I'm hoping for more! These all have been great and utterly informative threads and I've been following them very closely. Thanks for gathering all the links in to a one place, Zacto.
One lil' mistake though: I think the LST01's link is the same as Rafael's. |

It's been over a year since this thread last resurfaced.
Time for some new 1/32 Flanker love! Lots of Flanker stuff has happened since then. Trumpeter has released an Su-27UB and 're-tooled' many of the parts for it including nosecone and intakes. Their new parts look amazingly similar to mine Details >>>here<<<. They are also now including those 're-tooled' parts in the single seat kit as well as a 're-tooled' front windscreen. The two-seater will be needing a new canopy (when I can find the time!). On a happier note, I released prints of the Flanker in several different markings: ![]() Details at my website: www.Zactomodels.com |

I also did up several "What if" Flanker schemes!
![]() ![]() There are several more >>>here<<<. There is also an ARC What if group build that just started and will end on June 1st. I am donating a 24" print of the Ukrainian Demo scheme Flanker as one of the prizes. Join in the fun and build a what if model! |

Just a few days ago Linden Hill anounced that they were releasing Ukrainian decals!!!
Details >>>here<<<. The sheet will include markings for four Su-27s and three Su-27UBs. Among the markings on the sheet are "Blue 56": ![]() And "Blue 08" ![]() Note that "Blue 08" has a different, early tail stinger... ![]() ![]() Somebody had to do it... I'll be posting more pics in the coming days! |

Thank you very much for re uploading the photos Chris.
You know what i found funny? This is what chris said a few pages back: QUOTE No, I'm not planning to do a canopy for the upcoming Su-27UB (unless they really botch it mad.gif )... I small request Chris: I don't know if you have time for this, but could you please please show us how you cast things in resin. You are a master at casting, you take good pictures and you write in a way that is simple to understand, even when it is about complex things. And BTW, i have never seen so many " |
