Deciding if I should stay in the hobby

Over a year ago I had to change some things in my life and moved out to California. I did not have any time or a place to work on models while I was in CA, and being back in Boston now I am realizing how much of a stash I had compulsively built up. In addition, all of my completed builds were destroyed by my nephew while I was away. This leaves me with said destroyed models, a few in progress builds and the stash. I am going to part with most of the stash either way, but I dont know if I am going to try to fix up some of the damaged ones and finish the in progress builds or not. Does anybody have wisdom to share with me or been in a similar position?
I've missed posting here, hope all of you are doing well.
