There's an airshow in Paso Robles you could go to. And if the flyer is correct a chance to see Voodoo in flight is awesome sight.
I shall be at this show. I'm in Vandenberg Village...only about a 90 minute hop up north for me. Can't wait :D

Shockingly sad news. I visited his thread in the diorama forum almost daily. Tragic loss. My deepest condolences to his family :-(

I looked at the first few photos and pretty much just threw my hands in the air and said "I give up!" Unbelievable. Absolute, 100% perfection. Amazing workmanship. Congrats, and so well-deserved to be on the cover of the magazine.

Here's my little sanctuary. It's only clean because I had just finished a build...LOL :-)

Thanks to everybody that replied. The assistance is much appreciated. And BTW, the word "dongle" is just fun to say :D

It's not unusual to see some cars and pickups with rubber straps that dangle to touch the road to dissipate static build-up. Very dry weather makes it worse. On the Gulf Coast that's a rather rare occurance.
My mom's Lincoln Town Car always zaps me when I go to shut the door after I get out. I hate that damn car...LOL.

Just as an aside, I'm assuming the little doo-hickey thing that I got wasn't a Bluetooth dongle?

Ahhh...HOLMES, you, sir, totally reek of awesomeness! Thanks :D

OK...so here's the dilemma: I have music on my computer. I want to listen to said music with wireless headphones, but my computer is not Bluetooth capable. Is there any way I can MAKE my computer Bluetooth capable, or is there any wireless headphones out there that I could use that work between walls (so I can move throughout the house while listening to my music)? Thinking I knew what the hell I was doing, I bought THIS stupid thing, figuring this would transmit to Bluetooth headphones I bought, but apparently this is NOT what I needed. Any help would be very much appreciated! Thanks in advance :-)

The Viper is an aircraft that has very distinctive static wicks hanging off of it.

Haha...awesome video!
As a little side note on the REAL (read: album version...LOL) "Blurred Lines" song: The first few times I heard it, I couldn't stand it. I despised it, loathed it, hated it, changed the station every single time it was played. Last week when we went to the county fair, they had a club-like area set up for adults to go dance/drink, etc. We hung out in there for a little bit. As soon as we hit the dance floor, this song came on. Now I can't get enough of it, and every time I hear it, it really lifts my mood. I don't think I have ever had such a change of heart about a song...LOL.

Thank you so much for the birthday wishes :-)

There was a chapter devoted to this in a book called "Fly Navy: Discovering the Extraordinary People and Enduring Spirit of Naval Aviation" a few years ago. What a story it was. I, too, hope this trip yields success.

Woo-hoo! Finally I can peruse the forums without having to shut down my Avast! anti-virus. Hope everybody else that was having the problem is in the clear now, too.

Avast is still keying on the forums for me, so I'm having to disable before I surf. I even tried adding it to the global exclusions, and that didn't work either :(

I personally love sky lanterns. A few months ago some friends and I sent up a couple as we sat at the beach enjoying a bonfire. I thought they were really cool. One of them was gone forever, God knows where it ended up (I actually chuckled a little at the thought that it could have come floating down and landed in the middle of somebody's dinner, as there was a restaurant with outdoor seating nearby) but ironically, the second one somehow came back and landed no more than 10 feet away from where we launched it. It was just recently on the news here that the county that I was in when we were playing with the sky lanterns just outlawed their use. I was not too happy, because I think they're beautiful, but the logical side of me could see how they'd be dangerous.

I was watching Wallenda cross the Grand Canyon when I saw this for the first time. I had to call my mom over to check it out. She looks at me with mock disgust and says "James! That is TERRIBLE!" :rofl:/>

<p>Definitely throw a LANTIRN and GBU's on it! And yes, the "A+" was dropped in favor of the "B" :)/>. If you're going for uber-accuracy, I'm not entirely sure if the "fishbowl" in the RIO office had been replaced by the square PTIDS screen, but I think by that time it was on the Bravos and Deltas.

Very sad to hear. I remember watching Jason race in the N'Wide series all the time, and yes, the haircuts were great. Tragic, tragic day :(

Awesome! Great work...I wish my first completed kit looked half as good as this!

Hey! Welcome back, Colin!

looks like silvering from that picture, is the rough surface on it from the paint or the dullcote?
It's from the dullcote. First time I've ever had it happen.
-
Check your Facebook page James. The CATB that Scapilot is talking about makes an appearance around here every once in a while as well.

Aaron...I showed her the pic. She said it didn't have a red tail. If that wacky-arse F-22 testbed is still around, I kinda think that's what it is.

I didn't take a pic of the vertical stabs post-clear coat, but here's the ones on the fuselage that kind of "clouded" a little bit.
ARC Air mainpage down?

Same with me...just a blank page. Luckily I had some topics in my bookmark section.
