  1. At one point, I had my graduation tassel from 1999, a dreamcatcher, and a guardian angel medallion (just to appease Mom :rolleyes:/>), but had to take them down. I kept getting a "COMPASS NOT RESPONDING" message popping up on the display, so when I took my car to the dealer about it, they said it was because the stuff I had hanging from the mirror was interfering with the operation of the compass. Took them down and sure enough, I haven't had an issue since.

  2. Okay, I'll publicly admit that I watch the WWE once in a while, mostly because there's not much on TV on Monday nights. Here are three reasons I tune in.

It's amusing. It's fun to see how the writers move the plots along (and they're barely "plots" in the conventional sense, which is why I never refer to the WWE as "soap opera" for men, because it gives it too much credit). Professional wrestling is a weird mix of reality and fiction. Watching it requires you buy into assume a degree of kayfabe. It's fun to watch the fans' reactions to what happens.

The athleticism. Obviously wrestlers aren't actually fighting, but they take huge risks during every match and take "bumps" that would knock out even the most rugged scale modeler. You can't not respect them for their physical prowess.

    The divas. 'Nuff said.

    Scale Model Soup

Very well said, Steven. And yes, the fans' reactions are priceless. I absolutely LOVE the post-WrestleMania RAW. The fans basically hijack the show and it's amazing...LOL.

  3. Finally, somebody who admits watching it and, more importantly, liking it. What, exactly, is the entertainment value? What is a good match, what is bad match, what exactly do you like to see? I am not making fun of you. I just want to know.

Seriously, for the record, I am not trying to pretend I'm smarter than anyone else, like "ProfessorOfCharm" has asserted. I actually get why some would want to watch reality shows, cooking shows, house renovation shows, etc., but this genre has me stumped.

I think a lot of it is what Ken mentioned above, and I think a lot of it is that I've just watched it since I was a child, and I just kind of stuck with it. I do enjoy the storylines and characters, and sometimes (especially back during the Attitude Era), there's some pretty good comedy in some of the promos/vignettes that they do. And the actual wrestling is very impressive to watch, considering the choreography and such that goes into it.

  4. I've watched WWF/E since I was about 8 years old, and I'm not ashamed to say I still watch it, and enjoy the hell out of it. It was HUGE when I was in high school. There was a group of about 5 of us that watched it, and we drove our teacher nuts every Tuesday morning discussing the previous evening's Monday Night RAW. And yeah, when I was younger, I thought everything was real and that the characters legit "hated" each other (when I was like 9, I thought "Earthquake" was the biggest a**hole for sneak attacking and "injuring" my favorite dude, Hulk Hogan) but now I know that's not the case. It's staged (I won't say "fake," because there are *real* injuries that happen, and these guys are very athletic and I respect what they do), but so what? I'm still entertained by it. Not everybody's cup of tea, I know. I don't expect it to be. Just like watching, say, "House Hunters," or "Next Food Network Star" (yeah, random examples, I know) isn't my cup of tea. I couldn't care less about people buying a house or trying to cook something on camera.

  5. I think the Titan IV is in one of the storage hangars, part of the currently suspended "Behind The Scenes" tour. :(/> It's disassembled, but I looked through the pictures from my various visits and I don't have any shots of it.

Thought this posted earlier but I guess crappy hotel wifi said no.

Anyway the space wing along with the R&D and Presidential hangars were in fact closed. So was the outside exhibits but that's ok it was 90 degrees. Disappointing but what can you do. Had a great time and took about 100 pictures or so. I didn't see the actual picture requests till after we got to the hotel so I don't think I fulfilled any wishes. I'll make a Pbucket folder with them maybe Sunday when we get home.

Have a bunch of pics to take at the Columbus Zoo tomorrow hopefully we don't get drenched.

Well darn. Thanks for checking it out, though! :-)

  6. Such tragic news. I've been a huge WWF/E fan since I was about 8 years old. I grew up watching him, and he was one of my favorites. Nobody could cut a promo like him, and nobody could bring the charisma like he could. Even more recently, when he had a part in an angle with his two sons Cody Rhodes and Dustin "Goldust" Rhodes, it was always a treat when he picked up the microphone. There was nothing "common" about this "common man." Rest in peace, Dusty Rhodes.

  7. Yeah, I signed up for the upgrade last night. Guess I'll have to back up all my photos before I do the swap-over. The release is supposed to be 29 July, if I remember what I heard correctly.

  8. Actually forgot about posting this from a couple weeks ago. An RC-135 was out here at Vandenberg for four straight days. Must have been doing some sort of testing on the range out there, because it was joined by the "billboard" P-3 out of Mugu, a C-17, and a fighter aircraft of some sort that my mom saw but couldn't ID (most likely a Hornet). His first pass actually set off a car alarm on the next street over from me...LOL. This shot was taken from my backyard in Vandenberg Village.

  9. I filled the panel lines on mine (I used Bondo Spot Glazing Putty...worked like a charm), but there ARE photos out there of F-117's where you can see panel lines. I'm not sure if it's just a case of the RAM wearing off, or if the light just hit it right, or what, but I have seen them.
