Wow that looks super! Great weathering too!! A question, what are those things hanging off the front that look like giant rearview mirrors?

Last time I did this I used one of my daughters long beautiful hairs and just glued it with dots of white glue. Unfortunately she has since moved to the other side of the US. :( Maybe she didnt like me stealing her hairs.

I don't have any input for you but just wanted to tell you that your figure looks great! Is his helmet a marble?

Wow, just wow! Fantastic painting and your paint chipping is just great!!

Thanks guys! :)

You could always mix up some custom colors from artist paint. Burnt sienna, raw sienna, red oxide, and white should make just about any complexion except for black people.

Thanks guys. I appreciate your positive comments.

Here is my last finished model. It is the 1/32 Se5a by Encore. It was my goal to create a heavily weathered and faded finish on the plane.

Oh my gosh that's a fantastic looking model!!! I wish I could turn out a build like that! Just curious, what is that green that you used?
Chris

Wow, really love that worn finish! Thumbs up!!

Wow, that paint job on the Corsair is fabulous!!

Wow, this is eye-poppingly great! I am in love with the faded od green on the plane itself. If you don't mind, what color did you mix with the green for the faded affects? Also, the grass is fantastic as well! You should be very proud of this one.

I do white glue+swipe method on every canopy line, I am afraid that while airbrushing paint will find its way into cockpit....just irational fear, but I do that just in case :-)
Nothing irrational about that fear at all. I built an Me109 once that ended up with a tan splotch on the inside of the canopy from that very thing, grrr

Sharkmouth,
Not to hijack this thread or anything but do you have any information on that really incredible looking (Mi-24?) on the bottom of your posts?

Glad to learn about the top flap being closed while on the ground. I would have made a booboo on that one.

First off, paint silver and next step is clear yellow. ^_^/>
That's almost disappointingly easy! Thanks :)

Thanks for all the great info guys. I believe that I will try to prepaint and then mask the red areas. Also glad to hear about the areas that are not supposed to be red.
Jennings, I do not want you to think that I completely disregarded your first post. I believe that we posted simultaneously.

After thinking about it some more I think that I will go ahead with my initial plan and just apply some masking tape over the red areas.

Wow, that exhaust is amazing! Care to share what you used for that great gold color?

I am finishing up the assembly of my AM SBD Dauntless and I want my dive flaps to be in the fully opened position. The flaps are red inside and the outsides are going to be blue for the top and white for the bottom. I am thinking about going ahead and painting the interiors red then I will airbrush and weather my exterior paint (including the dive brake exteriors). Then when the painting is finished I plan to touch up the red insides that inevitably got some overspray on them. While this doesnt seem foolproof to me it is the best plan I can come up with. How have some of you solved this problem?

Thanks Netz, I have always wondered about HF airbrushes. How does it spray for you, and is it capable of precision work or is it mostly for large coverage? Also, does it seem to be a clone of a well-known manufacturer's brush?
Sorry for so many questions!!

Your model really turned out nice, super paint job btw. I am working on the USMC version of this model right now and I hope that it turns out as nice as yours! Wasn't that winch the most difficult, fiddely thing you have ever done!!??
