Really beautiful. Your photography is awesome as well. I have never been into the extended wings and catapult kneel with Tamiya's late A kits, but yours looks very attractive. I too have plans for a lowviz A+ from Saratoga. I actually happened to see one in person, but from a distance in 1990! About the AB decal set: Could you let us know if the gray arrow head tail flash is from the decals set or was that masked from Silhouette? I would love to gather as much as I can for my build. I am very much interested in any leftovers you may have from the AB set, and the silhouette files you have created if you would consider selling them. Please feel free to contact me through the personal messaging system here if you are up for it. No worries if not.
Thanks for the compliments. All of the markings on the outside of the tail were masked, though I did use decals for the CVW-17 "AA" logo on the inner tails. Nose and wing modex numbers, as well as the "NAVY" and turbine warning stripes on the lower fuselage were masked as well. I also masked by hand and painted the slime lights. Pilot, RIO, and PC names and the BuNos were homemade decals. The rest of the stencils came from the Afterburner sheet. I sent you a PM.

Thanks everyone.

Kinda worried about ordering direct from 3D-Chute and the import side. But probably will.
I've bought from them multiple times with no problems at all, but that was when we had a different president with different international trade policies... I'm not not sure if Taiwan has the same measures as those imposed on the People's Republic.

Here's a Tamiya F-14 that I built as a gift for a coworker who served in Desert Storm as a RIO in VF-103 Sluggers. I used the F-14A Late Model kit and added ResKit F-14D exhausts to convert it to the A+ model. I also added Model On Details mirrors to the canopy. The markings were a combination of custom masks made on my Silhouette, custom decals made on my laser printer, and the long out of production Afterburner Sluggers decal sheet. I used Furball aircrew patch decals for the crew chest patches, but had to hand paint the F-14A+ patches on the right shoulders. Furball decals were used on the AIM-54s and AIM-7s and TwoBobs decals were used on the AIM-7s and AIM-9s. The flight deck was sheet styrene over a wood base with AMMO by Mig's Anti-Slip paste for the non-skid texture. I used INFINI Model four point tie downs for the padeyes.

I believe that's the oil tank, and this may be something like the wheel well colors where it changed throughout the P-51's production, but here's a wartime photo where it appears to be bare metal:

(Pretty sure this image is mirrored because the prop blades are backwards and the gun camera port is on the wrong side)

I believe the KASL tail has the parabrake housing that wouldn't be applicable on Danish Vipers, which is why I suggested the one from 3D-Chute Expert. I've bought from them before (the 1:48 scale version) and it's a nice product.

3D-Chute Expert has the Block 10 vertical tail for F-16As: https://3d-chute-expert.myshopify.com/products/f-16a-b-vertical-tail-block-5-10. Danish F-16s didn't have a parabrake. Because E-191 was originally a Block 10 jet you'll also need the smaller horizontal stabilizers. Quickboost has these as QB 32 054.
If you compare E-191 to pics of their current solo dispay jet you can see the difference in shape of the horizontal stabilizers.

I wanted to use this set, however my problem was that the jet I'm building, the current Viper Demo jet, doesn't have the CDU installed. It might be sacrilegious to remove all that nice detail, but I scraped away the displays, added some .005" styrene, and then after painting I used Quinta Studio's cockpit 3D decal set (which fit perfectly.) In the end I get to have Kursad's nice shroud and HUD detail with the correct style instrument panel. Until he releases the earlier style panel, this isn't a too difficult workaround to build a non-CDU jet.

I emailed him about this awhile ago and the gist of his response was that the PayPal cart system he uses isn't very flexible and multiple orders from multiple carts is the only way he can get it to work for now. The good news is he'll refund you the extra shipping charges for multiple 3D parts so the most you'll pay is $4 total for shipping. He also said you could email him with what you want and he'd send you an invoice.

@strikeeagle801Thank you Aaron. I appreciate the thorough help. Great advice. I'm on Sprue Bros now, looking. And of course, the AoA Spook decal sheet with VMFA-115 is not available.
This wont be an immediate project, so I'll be able to keep searching. Thanks again
-JeffAOA sheet with VMFA-115 seems to be in stock: https://spruebrothers.com/aoa48014r-1-48-aoa-decals-usmc-f-4b-f-4j-phantom-ii-in-the-vietnam-war-spooks-from-the-beach-1/

Sorry I can't help with your long shot, but if you at least want some Gulf War F-4G markings The48ers has Speed Hunter Graphics 48020 Combat Weasels available. I've had an eBay search saved for that same AirDOC sheet for awhile without much luck.

On the bottom of the wing fold section you listed a number of fighter squadrons. You also included VMFAT-101. Just curious about not including two squadrons from the same MAG that are also a fighter squadron is all.I thought VMFT-401/402 flew F-5s? He said it's F/A-18 operators under the wings.

You'll also need the early IRST pod for under the nose. Phase Hangar made one (48085) which is out of production, but the Quickboost QB 48 791 should work too. Pictures of the Quickboost one look like the sensor part sticks out too far though, at least to my eyes.

Got a set from BAM models before he stopped shipping to US. Here's another ?. I recently ordered from Reedoak a couple 1/48 pilots. He to is in France just like Bam models is. Why is Reedoak able to ship from France to US but not Bam models?
He didn't just stop shipping to the US. Apparently France imposed new taxes on small businesses that made it unviable for him to stay in operation so he shut down all together. You can still order some of his remaining inventory until it's all gone, and I just did so with no apparent problems shipping to a US address.

I'll let those with the personal experience attest to why it was disliked, though my understanding is it was unreliable and not as great as it sounded on paper. Also, the rocket motor made it so the fins couldn't retract all the way which is why you see it carried on the aircraft with the fins already deployed. I built a Desert Storm Intruder with similar ordnance to what you describe (1xAGM-123, 2xMER, 2xMk. 20, 2x Mk. 82 Snakeye, and 1xFuel Tank), just arranged slightly different based on photo evidence I found.

Is the CAS Vipers sheet a straight reprint or does it have the few small improvements alluded to in the thread for that sheet?

FWIW, in the picture that ST0RM linked to above, the "pilot's" name is CWO3 HASHAUN SWAZY with callsign GUNNER and EWO is LT GABRIELLE LAWRENCE with callsign FUGU TD. It's dated a year earlier than the names I mentioned though and I didn't see any port side pics from the same timeframe.
-
I registered successfully for that site a while back because it's a great reference source for any jets that have visited Japan. Using the Google translate camera app was the only way I was managed to do it. Some of the names change depending on the date of the photo, but there are photos from 4/20/24 that show both sides clearly if that fits the timeframe you're looking for. Port side (left) has pilot LT JACK DOWNEY with callsign DA BABY underneath, EWO is LT TIM BOSSERMAN with callsign SLICK WILLY underneath. Nose gear door says AN TERRY CRUZ with INGLEWOOD, CA underneath. Starboard side (right) has pilot LT CHRIS BERG callsign SID THE SLOTH and EWO is LT COURTNEY DALE callsign RONDA. The after nose gear door says KELSEY IRWIN with OMBUDSMAN underneath. This pic from 5/5/24 shows the same starboard side names clearly even in low res: https://flyteam.jp/photo/3936854

I personally seem to use Tamiya for everything now but if you want something similar to the MM liquid cement try Revell Contacta Professional. It has the same needle applicator and seems similar in consistency and use in my experience. I picked up my bottle from Sprue Brothers but even Amazon has it for a little more money.

Model will be 91-0353 in the livery as carried in 2021-22 period.
I don't mean to derail the purpose of this thread, detract from your build, or even know if this is something you care about, but it's my understanding that the Shaw-based Block 50s don't have the CDU. Here's a screenshot from one of the Viper Demo pilot's Instagram reels showing 91-0395 with the regular center console.
If someone with first-person knowledge corrects me I'll gladly admit I'm wrong, but I was planning a future build of the same airframe and all my research from publicly available sources points to not having the CDU upgrade. Again, I hope this isn't taken as negativity towards your model.

I just checked my kit and sprue O did contain the LAU-114s. Maybe earlier releases of the kit didn't have them but later releases used updated molds?

I believe that is a travel pod as shown here: http://www.anft.net/f-14/f14-detail-baggcont.htm. I don't think the Phoenix rails would've been plumbed for fuel.
