  1. Just like 11bee said, this is simply cockiness on our part. We didn't think anybody would be able to hack the command link and somebody did. It's cocky and extremely stupid to think that way (not to mention dangerous).

This is a technological gold mine for the Iranians, but more importantly for the Chinese.

Stupidity, pure and simple. We're so smart we could build this drone and load it with technology, but we're too stupid to protect the technology from our enemies.

Agreed. Now anyone can have a stealth weapon delivery system.

Russia made the mistake of selling China a modern aircraft carrier, not to be out done in sheer stupidity, we simply give away our latest technology. Might as well Fex-Ex a JSF to China.

Possible phone call from Iran to China:

President Ahmadinejad "Hey Hu old buddy, we got our hands on the latest American Infidel military technology, can we get some nuke missiles in trade for it?"

President Jinao "No problemo Mahoud old buddy, I am sending over whatever you want."

  3. In 1/48 scale, and for an AV-8B, the Revell/Monogram kit gets my vote. The options in 1/48 are that and Hasegawa, and while the Hasegawa kit has been released as a B, B/NA, B+, GR.5 and GR.7 (whereas Revell/Monogram is just a B, although there is a "snap kit" B/NA also out there) I really dislike the wing on the Hasegawa kit. Monogram nailed the weird combination of washout (wing twist) and anhedral change perfectly. Hasegawa missed the washout. And from head-on, it changes the whole look of the model.

But then, I worked on Harriers, and know what it should look like, so it bothers me. Aside from that wing, Hasegawa turned out a beaut of a kit.

Is there any pictures the illustrate the wing twist you are referring to? I am interested in learning about that.

    Cheers

    JH

  4. Actualy it was not. I discussed it with Raymond yesterday and he admitted that this was a decision made to lower the tooling cost. I personally don't think it was the right place to look for savings, but for others obviously it was a correct decision.

    Pawel

Kinetic really missed a great opportunity to save big $$ with this one. They could have saved even more money by using the E-2 landing gear and F-16 wings (hey its triangle, what the heck!) and Prowler clear parts (no need for it to be the right shape, correct?).

I am keeping my Heller Mirages, it is far less effort and money to re-scribe the panels then try and fix this thing.

Sorry Raymond. I really like the other kits as I have several. I even like the F-84! I would have paid more than double for an accurate one with less options.

    Flame on!
