  1. So after spending a day at work yesterday observing multiple groups of fighters arriving and departing Bangor, Maine, I decided that after a scheduled meeting this morning I would head over to the airport to try and track down some action. I could see an assortment of fighters on the flight line near the tower, however no access there and no chance at photos since none departed in the few hours I hung out. I was however treated to the departure of a Royal Air Force VC-10, XV104, the plane that up until earlier this year still carried a bright red tail and the RAF 40th Anniversary logo.
  2. Gary - the location I use in Bangor is just slightly elevated to the west of the runway 33 approach. That is very typical of the late day sun angle in this neck of the woods - literally As for the Tornados - some of the group was gone when we went on our first mission yesterday morning and two planes remained on the flight line...by evening, those two planes were being readied to go as well.   4. Wanted to throw out my first post to the forum and add a few photos... While waiting for a trio of RAF Tornado GR-4s at Bangor, ME on Tuesday, I photographed one of the transplanted Mississippi ANG KC-135Rs working under the Maine ANG banner and call sign Maine 86. The Maine 101st ARW (ME ANG) received several - five in total from what I've been told - KC-135R planes that were formerly assigned to the 186th ARW (MS ANG) / 153rd ARS (bk/gd) - Meridian AB, MS. The tanker is seen landing at the ME ANG base at Bangor Int'l Airport in Bangor, ME. It is interesting that the fuel boom has the
