Wonderfully done. Only critique would be that the metallic on the weapons underneath look a little to 'clean'.

I must get one of these now. Typical modern Japanese kits - very nicely engineered!
-
Some nice ideas there.
If you didn't know, Wave have recently released a much more expensive version of this subject at 1/72.
However, I look forward to seeing what else you're going to do with yours - a nice start here. That revised 'arm' is certainly going to look different!

What a beast! Looking forwards to the next pics.

I don't care if it's fake or not - I want one, and in 1/72, thank you!

I believe Citadel paints also have a good range of metallic paints now, although I have not tested these for myself yet.

At twice the size this would still look detailed and awesome.
Very nice work, keen to see that primer layer go on!

Hi Jay
Fine White and Fine Grey Tamiya spray primer did not display the same characteristics as Mr Surfacer to me - at least not for resin priming. I find that Mr Surfacer comes off a lot more easily than Tamiya's fine primers. However I was not aware Tamiya had a 'standard' and 'fine' selection - I've only ever found and used the 'fine' versions.

I had no idea this kit built up so nicely. Great work!

Very nice. I had no idea those elements were so small. The detail will add to an already detailed kit!

Huge fan of English Russia. Nice find!

That looks gorgeous. I'll have to grab one of these.

I've only ever seen the first couple of Crusher Joe movies and I thought they were mindless fun. Loved the vehicle designs in all of them, and the Cordoba was a standout. I mean if you were Joe and this was coming up behind you with all those guns... watch out!
Looking forward to your build of this. I did mine over 15-20 years ago now I think...

I think he's just having a bit of a lark.

THE GODS OF MODELLING APPROVE OF YOUR SACRIFICE.
YOUR CUTTING SKILLS WILL NOW BE BLESSED FOREVER MORE.
. . . . BUT YOUR SPRUE STRECHING SKILLS REQUIRE MORE BURNT OFFERINGS!

I had one done a few months ago - I'm not even 40. But I had an issue which needed to be sorted out, and I was very happy to hear I had not problems. The proceedure itself is no an issue. As mentioned, the 'prep' beforehand is. I guess its only 24 hrs...

I don't think you're going to find exactly what you need. I've been looking for a fully transparent filler for years... and have not been satisfied with much of anything. There are plenty of 'transulcent' possibilities, the simplest of which I can think of is Araldite, but the problem with most of them is that micro airbubbles get into them and make them foggy to some extent.

Wow look at this, I think it was my first model kit, I would have been around 7 years old...
-
That is absolutely stunning, just beautiful work. Well done!

One of my favourite aircraft, and you did a great job. How did you do the tip of the nose?
-
I'm not sure if I should build it or sell it.
Are we not modellers? Come on!
-
What a beauty, and lit too!
What did you think of the kit? I never picked this one up, and now it's unavailable I believe.
-
Looks good. I've never had real problems with Anigrand kits in terms of bubbles, but then again the only 'old style' kit I've bought from them is the HL-10 testbed. Their newer offerings, however, have been uniformly fantastic in my small experience.
This kit looks great. And you're right - it does look similar from that angle to a Macross VF-0D.

Really nice. The finish is superb. I think I need to build one of these sooner or later. My little girls will go crazy!

I would be very, very wary of stripping it - especially with something Easy-off, which I have used extensively for this sort of thing.
It's interaction with glues is the main issue - and all your delicate work with the detailing you've done may start coming apart in ways you didn't expect.
To be honest your problematic finish doesn't look too bad. Yes, the Cordoba didn't have the type of 'weathering' you've inadvertantly given it, but so what? It still looks pretty damn good!
I don't think salt weathering is the answer - the scale would be to large.
Anyway, this is a fantastic build, and I am very grateful for all the pics giving an insight into the process.
