  1. all the aircrafts in that sheet appear to be RF-4B with thinner wing as all the one with the thicker one had their bu.no starting with 157

edit also depending where you live I can help you with a spare thin wing and an additional Hasegawa RF-4B which I'm going to receive for the next monday which I don't need as it was bundled together with an Hasegawa Ta 154

  2. thanks Gabor, anyway I'm just after overall kit accuracy, so for me if Eduard makes their own "grey" MF or a Soviet built one it will be both MF and RF with the Republic of Belka or Yuktobania decals from Ace Combat series smacked on,yet I will have to study the Lancer to see which one will make the greatest shortcut,Bis and 21-93 will be a different story together with the Mongol.

If someone wonders why I'm tinkering with kit accuracy despite the What If route I took,is just because I got fed up of those printable sheets being made only in the wrong scale so I would rather live without those decals than switching scales

  3. Well I just hope that their MF will be a good base for a Romanian Lancer, also during their "find the differences" contest on Facebook they said that one was a Czech built machine and the other one was a Soviet built one and they were going to do both of them,as for the Fujimi Bis from a topic on BM people told that you could fix it by cutting the fuselage, remove the excess, buy nose cone, stabs, tail and whatever resin fixes, maybe rescribe wing panel lines as something was different around the flap area and so on.Kinda feels a pain in the bathroom,if only Zvezda acknowledge their mishap and fixed theirs.I will hog the two Bilek Mig-21 I have for more longer especially if they don't plan to do any twoseater, hoping to get that PFM I scored from a russian seller from eVilbay soon since a good month passed and nothing has been delivered to me :-\

  4. Kinda applies for the F-16 too

Hasegawa sells you both A & B variants in various disguises

Revell sells you an A fuselage with C parts but ignored MLG details

    Tamiya just cover one version

Academy works on my spare parts bin

    or both Mig-15 and Mig-17

Eduard FINALLY got the Mig-15 right (Hobbyboss maybe got it too but this will trigger the haters),ok it's a Czech built machine which is fine if you're doing an exported version of it and not so fine for a Soviet one,

As for the Mig-17 everynyan failed,AZ is the closest one but good luck fixing tail chord

I'm still failing to see what's wrong in Zvezda nose as everyone always says "radome this and that were more larger" but side by side pictures are hard to come by,wasted 30+ euro for its aftermarket stuff and didn't bother to touch it due RV releasing theirs and Eduard announcing their very own version that maybe will come in a year or so after Half Life 3.

My Ace Combat doctrine also dictates that I need Huckbein's Bis, a 21-93, maybe an MF, one RF, an F-13, a Lancer, a Mongol and I think a PFM just to touch all the major versions without spiraling down in that madness of subvariants and license built machines, so dear J-7 I'm sorry but as long as the internet doesn't come up with a good J-7 bible I'm leaving you out of the equation

  5. 04317 is the new tool that come after the Italeri rebox, from BM it was said it has the panel lines around the canopy for a two seater and needs some touch ups here and there,it was also reboxed by Hasegawa in their Idolcrapmaster boxings which sometimes can be found (at least in Japan) as cheap as 10 bucks

Newer updated tool just lack decals and is overpriced but it fixed the panel lines problems and I think it has the missing pylon that was not included in 04317 boxing

  6. if you go for missiles be aware that apparently some anti radiation missiles required one or two pods, one is the Blizzard or I think it was called like that and the other one is also named after snow related treacheries, still can't understand which pod goes with and which other doesn't as soviet runes are evil and books with good references are scarce,so is the lack of a good Floggerman.

Bulleye is half of the duo that made up Afterburner Decals, the other half formed Furball Aero Design. Afterburner Decals shut down and split up back in 2012 (IIRC). Bulleye specializes in USAF subjects (they have produced 1 USN subject), Furball specializes in USN/USMC subjects but does other subjects, including photo-etch detail sets.

    thank you ^^

  8. Chris the problem is that the fuel tank was and still in use on the F-5 and it was also used on the F-20 during trials.F-5E/F can also mount the small 150? gallon drop tank used on F-5A/B and I have plenty of them due me accidentally trashing a Revell F-5B box and also keeping two Italeri F-5A for spare parts as the fuel probe was later installed on foreign F-5E.I do have a couple of projects in mind that require at least 3 of those 275 tanks and the good options are kinda null,Hasegawa F-20 drop tanks are a bit thin,Italeri ones possibly have the correct length but the shape is not so right,I no longer own any Airfix/Heller F-5 and I remember them being a little more thick than Italeri tanks so I have to go after one of them and try to steal a Ching Kuo for cheap somewhere on the web, plus Attack Squadron F/A-18C nozzles to fix Hasegawa F-20 and X-29 "things" but hoarders stolen them all from and I'm not sure if Wolfpack or Aires one will fit well....and speaking about the X-29 due my Ace Combat and Area88 needs I think more than 3 drop tanks will be needed :P

  9. well I was seeing some similarities in the front portion and I thought they just reshaped the nose and partially the aft end,but I just learned that the only 1/72 correctly shaped F-5/F-20 drop tank resides in Best Fong Ching Kuo box which is OOP and so is the other one from Moxing Studio :-\

  10. Box 808 had the fuselage pieces for FSD or earlier Apache with short pylons, split under fuselage fairing and whatever was missing around rotor mast, pic is from the one I have listed on evilbay

Dt8X is possibly the first boxing with revised parts, the problem with Scalemates is that for some kits there is a lack of sprue pics, for example they are listing Hasegawa F-2A from Aerodancing as an FS-X box variant whilst the FS-X is an F-16C rebox with a new sprue for the canards and vertical stab and Aerodancing F-2A is just the standard F-2A

  11. Rich thanks,I did notice that they had different tails when I was checking Fujimi and Italeri EA-6A with Hasegawa's EA-6B and it's own clone from Hobbycraft because a modeller from Japan fixed Italeri tail pointing out the faulty areas which made me to buy back a Fujimi EA-6A.The first time I've seen the beer can,the fairing's shape looked like something added later and taken from a Phantom IR/ECM or whatever it was fairing, turns out it's not so I only have to scratch it out from some sprue trees ^^

Wish I could say the same about 300 gal drop tanks as "if" the pictures are right then Attack Squadron fuel tanks will require some fixing to differentiate between late and early tanks, and maybe write off the suitable for Harriers from the instructions

  12. the other markings that are not included in the sheet are for "Shinigami" Boris who had his tail and horizontal stabs painted in red, they were included in 1/72 Hasegawa decal set which was released after the 2004 or so anime series:

    http://www.1999.co.jp/eng/10050746

Also Hasegawa is kinda messing up with markings as Saki Kfir markings are different than the ones released after the last series,so are the F-20 markings as one option comes from Ace Combat Infinity game, then for their A-4M Greg used the skull insignia only on his A-10 as the A-4s in the series were always treated as red-shirts,there is no A-4 in Ace Combat Infinity nor in the UN Squadron games so I guess they were too lazy to repack a 1/48 A-10 and trowed those markings in their A-4.

  13.

I think ICM covered that with theirs, but they completely forgot about those dang ECM blisters, plus there it was a discussion here regarding wing differences that drove me crazy, luckily I still had a spare Hasegawa kit but when that happened was already too late for Berkut Migs :-\

Also but I really don't remember where I got this, inside the intakes there is a little cage like grid that was different between early and late Migs, bust since no kits have the complete trunking is not a biggie, but I hate myself for having missed click2detail ones

If any he must compare the Hasegawa kit nose section with Berkut or ICM ones.
