  1. Thanks everybody, for the kind words. I just added a link to the WIP pictures, I hope that is of some interest to you. Kind regards and happy modelling, Jeroen
  2. Hello all, Mid december I got in touch with Martin, the owner of Wingscale, and he asked me to build one of the upcoming 1:32 B25's he's about to release. Today he is off to the toyfare in Germany and the model is on display there, so I had a couple of intensive weeks with this kit to get it finished in time. This is a preproduction model, so there were no etchings and no decals. All you see is in the box I got, nothing extra has been added with one exception: I asked Mal Mayfield of Miracle masks to cut me masks of a scheme that will be offered with decals. I'm convinced that masks work bett
  3. I'm not sure but I think they're the same, with a single loop. If I'm correct and memory serves me well I think Aires has a set of 4 seats only, in case you're not interested in the whole assemblee! Hope this helps, cheers, Jeroen
  4. Thanks very much guys for your kind words! Highly appreciated. Now it's on to the next project, which probably will be Tamiya's 1:32 Spit Mk VIII! all the best to you and yours, cheers, Jeroen
  5. Well, I really have to start rethinking these projects. It happened with the Tamiya Lanc, with the Monogram Skytrain and now again: these builds take time and patience which I sometimes don't have. This is one of those projects that came to a full stop and took a bit to get it on track again, but here she is: my 1:48 Monogram Prowler (great timing with the Kinetic kit just being released lol). I rescribed the whole fuselage, added the Aires cockpit, removed the tailspine and dome and replaced those with Wolfpack goodies - and they also provided for the wing fold set. Most of the time went into
  6. hi Doug, In short: I selected a couple of panels at random that I painted with a mix of grey and black. The linen and the flaps were all painted with a mix of black and dark earth. The rest was painted with black. At this stage the contrasts are rather strong, but they will become less over the followoing steps. When all this was dry I took pure grey (something like panzer grey or similar) and sprayed at random streaks over the wings and fuselage. This step can be best seen around the exhausts. I then added the decals and coated the whole thing with Tamiya Gloss varnish. When that was fully
  7. Well, she's done. And I'm pretty pleased with the result as well. She looks like the mean and menacing night prowler I had in mind. But... I couldn't have done it without all your suggestions, good advice and supportive critiques. So thank you all for that, I really did appreciate it and it helped me a lot to do improvements along the way. I hope you enjoy the pics as much as I did building and painting her. All comments welcome as usual, happy modelling! Jeroen
  8. I'm not sure to be honest... I think this one begs to be put in a dio, and I am starting to have some ideas for that... who knows. Thanks for your very kind remarks! Cheers, Jeroen
  9. Thanks guys... about the decals.. no, they're not decals. Roundels, codes and the basr on the tail were done with Miracle Masks. Google the name and you will see what I'm talking about. Smaller stuff were tamiya decals, which performed ok. Thanks for all your kind words, cheers, Jeroen
  10. Lol Mike... and I started checking every resource I had... I'm going to slap myself.... will be right back ;-)!
  11. Thanks Mike! I'm not sure about the swastika's though... this is how mr Tamiya tells us to do it. Maybe it's because they're turned to one side, bt that's how they were on the plane. Left or right, I'm not going to change it ;-). Thanks again, your reply is highly appreciated! Cheers, Jeroen
  12. I thought the home stretch would take a little longer but things went so well and I had a little more time than I expected, so here she is: my 1:32 Spitfire from Tamiya. It was a great experience with a couple of firsts for me (acrylic varnishes, Promodeller sludge for the wash), a lot of extra detailing (in the cockpit and engine area) and loads and loads of quality time. She's far from perfect but this was the best that I could do and that gives great satisfaction indeed. I hope you enjoy the pics as I did building this. Thanks to all of you who so kindly supported me over the last two and a
  13. ... This has been my project over the last couple of weeks and after I got back from holiday earlier this week I finished the last parts and details. I fell in love with this paintscheme a long time ago and I think it is one of the most sexy P47's I ever saw - which is a personal opininon of course. I rivetted the airframe and the wings, because to me that emphasizes the bulky and strong looks of the P47. NMF's are not my fort, but I'm pleased the way this came out. It really was a nice painting and weathering experiment and I can only hope you like it too. So here are some pics - all comments
  14. So tonight I call her done; my first ME109 E3. I tried to make an effort on Bärs plane, build from the Hasegawa kit. What a joy it was to build. Please don't shoot me on accuracy because I'm definately not a specialist on the subject, but from a building point of view this is a wonderful kit. And wow, an ME109 in this scale is really tiny. I added the Verlinden set for the radio compartment to add a spark of interest and also the cockpit. Painting was done in my usual way, but I tried not to overweather it... which wasn't a complete succes . I want to thank Dave Sherill who was so kind to h
