LIGHTNING vs CONCORDE The Lightning that once overtook Concorde was described as 'the best of the best' by Flt Lt Mike Hale at the roll-out ceremony for XR749 at Teesside Airport on September 28th 1995. Now an instructor with 56 Sqn at Coningsby, Mike flew 80 sorties in XR749 after the aircraft was allocated to 11 Squadron at Binbrook. Well not alot to be said really, this is a very big kit, but has a few problems so anyone building one, should really plan well ahead, i would recommend the 'how to build book, i think its esential for the first build of this (mine is now on sale, so anyone wanting one pm me, as i will let its go very very cheap) anyway ill let the piccys do the talking

yes mate, i have a set of Tamiya, rally pit crew to convert, and a friend has lent me a 1/24 pilot figure im going to try to cast ok all the decals are on and sealed, so ive started with a coat of 'Dark wash'

Time for a proper update ok here's where i am, and a warning for anyone building this kit in any scheme, the decal placment numbers are wrong, not just in the checkers but also the walkways and stencils, so check and double check, dont do what i did and trust in Airfix as you may have read, due to the error in numbering i got them wrong and then they disintegrated when i tried to swap them ok TC kindly researched this aircraft for me and it appears that, the checkers were a post war addition to the plane, so until some replacement arrives it a war machine, when replacments arrive they will

well i sprayed the bottom, then thought id get the white tac and and roll some sausages for the camo...... but i cant find it!!!! i have a sneaking feeling a small person has borrowed it for his school project so..... free hand camo

guns and tanks done!

well both gun bays are done and ready next up is the fuel tanks, now im not going to paint them in aluminium as per the instructions as i believe they would be a red primer colour the same as hurricanes, anyway if im wrong you wont see them anyway
