  2. I also find that cheap dollar store cotton swabs are sometime better for modelling than the expensive home care brands. The dollar store ones have a lot less cotton and leave behind a lot less fibres. The tamiya and mr hobby ones are great too, just really pricey.

  3. I want to do a combat veteran F-18F, but I’d prefer not to have to change the pipes like I did on my E version. So I have been looking at getting decals for the F, that will have the older exhausts.  What time frame would I be looking at? I know it will depend on each given aircraft being back dated, but there a rule like nothing before 2007 for example would have the new exhaust?

Look at a bottle of Tamiya paint in Canada and you will see a new label over the original that complies with Canadian labeling laws. I'm not sure if Tamiya or the Canadian importer does it but it has to be done to sell here. Note that Testors puts English, French and Spanish on their labels from the start to cover North America. Apparently Mr. Paint doesn't view the Canadian market as worthwhile.......

I was taking with an employee with Borgfelt, the Canadian Tamiya distributor, he and his wife apply the labels by hand at home watching T.V.

Any updates or MRP availability in Canada?  In particular I’d like  to try the water based line..

  5. I’m not sure what this rack is called, but the rack that holds two AIM-120’s on a single pylon on the super hornets.  Can I get one in 1:48 scale. I have the dual bomb rack from res-kit but I can’t seem to find one for the missiles.  Likely because I don’t know what is it called to search for it.

    Thanks

  6. In my stupidity, I went back to fix one thing, and now i’ve ruined an almost complete model. I was wondering if I could buy, beg, borrow or steal the aircraft number, and aircraft letter code from the 112 squadron markings.  I’ll pay or trade whatever you’d prefer.

    Thanks

    Ron

  7. I am looking to improve the exhaust nozzles on my eduard(Hasegawa) F-18E in 1:48.  I have looked around at some photos and checked out the aftermarket resin options.  There appears to be two different exhaust nozzles.  The most common one seems to be the type with the complete trailing edge, a lot like the legacy hornet. A less common type has a notch in the trailing edge more like the F-14D nozzle.  Is one an upgrade or refit?  Can you tell by the serial number. What about the type of ECS exhausts do these relate to the type of exhaust nozzles?

    Thanks

The way that the F/G is designed, I would say that it is certain they will eventually. There would be no reason to design the kit the way that they did if they weren't going to do other versions. I can't give any kind of guess as to when though. I would think that they would want to let the F/G version have some time on the market first.

If you haven't built the F/G version, it is a beautiful kit and a lot of fun to build

I would not say that a future release of the P-38 is certain.  As you said, based on the tooling, subsequent variants are easily and efficiently accounted for, but this is Tamiya.  We are all still waiting for the 1:32 F-16, zero, and spitfire sub-variants that they have already tooled and just have to mix and match parts to release.  Not to mention all the other kits that just require a new part or two for another version.  I know I am waiting for other P-38's to come my way, but nothing is certain with Tamiya.

  10. Where does a person find the BRU-33 racks in 1:48 for the F-18E. Or are there other double racks in use for this aircraft?  I know attack squadron from Poland made some but these are out of stock everywhere I have looked.
