  1. I would try Pine-Sol but it all depends on what kind of paint it was. Lacquers, acrylics and enamels all have certain things that work better than others. I would try Pine-Sol over night and hit it with a brush for enamel. Brake fluid on a lacquer and ammonia on an acrylic.
  2. Not sure if it was mentioned but you can thin it with the cheap blue windshield washer fluid for your car if you don’t have any Windex. Just don’t use any with the additive that makes the water bead up like the RainX Brand. The blue blends in and will not be noticeable.
  3. I have some kits that I would like to trade 1. 1/72 He 111 Z-1 Heinkel Zwilling by Testors/Italeri (867), open but all parts are there except for half of one bomb (not used anyway). Box is marked 1979. 2. 1/48 ESCI F-104N N.A.S.A., open but its all there. 3. MPC - Star Wars "The Empire Strikes Back" Battle on Ice Planet Hoth set. Partially assembled, a little black paint on the ATATs but some parts are still on the sprues. This was bought way back when it first was issued. All kits are pretty old but unbuilt and the decals look good. Looks like the MPC kits are repackaged Airfix kits
  4. That would be VP-40. I saw the older kit with the VP-19 markings on ebay for cheep. Kit was open and the decals were trashed but all the parts were there. You could pick that kit up and the find the VP-40 decals.
  5. I’m looking to finish my Testors RF-4C as a German RF-4E with the Norm 72 camouflage. Someone suggested I try here since someone might have some leftover decals from an older Hasegawa kit that came with F-4F or RF-4E decals that they didn’t use. Partial AirDoc or something else will work also.
  6. I see the P-3 that landed in China back in 2001 still had the gray and white paint.
  7. I have to try this White or the Blue if I can find it. Have some red Nitro (nitrocellulose) glazing and spot putty but have to sand outsize since the fine red dust gets everywhere. I guess it is lacquer based also because it will attack the plastic if I spread it too thick.
  8. These are the decals that came with the kit when I picked it up many years ago and there is also an option to build it as a Canadian CP-140 Aurora. I like the look of this scheme and wasn't sure if they used maverick when painted like this. They have been using the P-3 in Afghanistan so I thought thats where the cluster bombs were used. Not sure whats going on there now but it will definitely have some Harpoons and Torpedoes. I'm going to get some weapons kits and see what I can pull from there and maybe I can scratch the rest. Anybody know when these were changed from the gray and white
  9. I was just wonering if the stenciles would be in English or German. Thanks for the tip and I'll give it a try since I'm on a tight budget with this stuff now.
  10. Those are some cool links. I like what they have for some future projects.
  11. Nothing? Been looking for a week now and haven't found a thing.
  12. I actually printed that one at work. They often block forums but was able to sneak this post in. Have an old Minicraft/Hasegawa kit with VP-19 markings of this plane, So I should stick with that time frame on the weapons and the Maritime role. Looks like 77-83 at least and Harpoons, MK-46s & mines.
  13. Anybody have pictures with these armed? This shot is all I can find and it has AIM-9 x2, AGM-84 x4 and something else on the inner pylons that I can’t make out. Anybody know what the blue and green ordinance is?
  14. I'm looking for some decals for a 1/48 scale RF-4E and have only found AirDoc. Would also settle for F-4F or even generic period correct markings I can use. Are there any others making them? I see Aeromaster has stencils but it does not say what pattern it goes with.
  15. I have a quick question about this putty. Is it a two part with a hardener or is it used straight from the packaging with no mixing? I'm trying to find some in my area and want to know what I'm looking for.
