As we were getting ready to descend into DFW yesterday I was looking out of the window and caught a glint off of another plane above us and was able to zoom in with the camera. Looks blue and white but I can't make out the livery. Anyone have an idea? We were still high, just starting down from 37K just a few moments before but I don't know the actual altitude.

Its an Allegiant MD-82.

When you got done building it did you yell "YEE HAW JESTERs DEAD"?
-
They don't offer them in 1/200 scale, though.

Awsome! Looks really good.Hi You were asking about the United 1980s saul Bass Livery for the DC10 , i have just finished doing the DC10-30

Richard
What about the 1980's/1990's British Airways with the light grey topside and the dark blue underside? I think the 747 for sure and maybe the L-1011, DC-10 or the 767? I think that was one of the nicest paint schemes ever. And since you're from the UK...

Those remind me of the LEGO base boards.

Considering that Che Guevara was from Argentina and he went around sticking his nose in other countries business I don't think I'd be talking. Just sayin.I hope China get's his new J-20 fighter soon, that will make things a bit more balanced out there and the US will have to think a bit more carefully where to get is nose in.

You're right. I googled UK gun crimes and this was the top site (among many). And it only took about 12 seconds.Utterly, utterly false. The latest crime stats from the UK show that last year;
- Overall crime fell by 4.2%
- Homicide down by 13.8%
- Attempted murder down by 7.6%
- Firearms offences down by 15.8%
A whole 20 seconds typing 'UK crime rates' into Google would have told you the truth.
Vince
You were saying?
Want me to post all the sites? It'll take up alot of room though.

The idea that "lax" gun laws are to blame is ridiculous and simple minded. The UK, as one of many examples, has some of the most strict "gun laws" and their crime rates are soaring. We live in a country (US) where an estimated 66,000,000 people own guns yet only a handful of them use their guns to commit crimes. Relatively speaking, gun crime in the US is very low. In fact, stats prove over and over that CCW laws reduce crimes in virtually all cases and pro gun communities have lower crime rates as well. One of the reasons the theater massacre, Colombine, VT and the Gabriel Giffords shootings make headlines in the way that they do is because they, in reality, happen very rarely.
Would a CCW holder have been able to stop the Theater Massacre? I don't know. What I do know is that there wasn't one person in that theater who was able to fight back. If you choose to go out into public without the ability to protect yourself then you really can't blame anyone else when you get victimized. At least a CCW could have tried to make a difference. To the guy who said that a CCW holder would have made the situation worse: 12 people are dead and 50 wounded. How do you make that situation worse? Unbelievable.
I think Thomas Jefferson said it best: "I'd rather have complete liberty and accept that some people will abuse that liberty than to not have liberty at all." The bottom line, I hate to say, is that some people are bad and no laws will change that.

Looks great.
Only thing I noticed was that some decals had silvering. The main offender was the LN decal on the left vertical stabilizer. Looks like the silvering is right along that panel line. Its easy to fix, though. Just poke some holes in the silvering with a new #11 blade and brush some Micro Sol on it and that should work. Same thing with the decal at the front of the left intake.

Good job! Nice to see another Luke Viper.

You didn't say what scale but since you asked about the Airfix kit I'm assuming its 1/144. Try these guys: Nazca Decals Scroll to the very bottom and there should be a detail set for the 1/144 737-200.

Nice work!

I'd say it looks close to Burnt Umber...maybe a little lighter.
-
Yes. Look at the decal sheet instructions. They have a picture to specifically show the ECS vents. Its the 3rd one down.

Nice work!

Looks great. The camo and the grey panel marking really make it look busy. I like it.
-
Do you take requests? Cause I know about 15 different liveries that people are dying to find...like the 1980's Saul Bass United Airlines DC-10 and the TWA L-1011 Twin Stripes with the correct red color for example

I've purchased and had good experiences with Joy Decals, too.

Its definitely gonna be brown...not black.

That's pretty cool, man!

Hi guys,
Maybe someone can help me with this. I recently switched to Shutterfly because I was having problems uploading pics to Photobucket. But now I'm having trouble attaching images in my posts. The problem with Photobucket, BTW, is that all of a sudden it doesn't ask me if I trust it to open files on my computer.
Anyway, If I bracket the Shutterfly url with "[ img ]...[ /img ]" I get the message "You are not allowed to use that image extension on this board." (I added the spaces simply to get it to appear). Using the insert image button gives the same message.
If I add ".jpg" to the end of the url I get this:

How do I get the full size image to appear?
This is the link:

Ok, I figured it out.

Nice work!

I think overall you did a really good job on this. I like the discoloration on the fuselage an it looks pretty spot on.
One thing I did notice right away (sorry if it was already pointed out) is that the decals on the tail are not level with the ground or rather they are not level with the longitudinal axis of the plane (pic #3). My guess is that maybe you applied the CO banner first and it was just slightly higher in the front which caused you to place the remaining decals at the same angle.
You might be able to fix it. I've had decal issues where I simply took a soft brush, continuously dipped it in water and brushed it over the decal that I wanted to move. Then as it begins to lift a bit you can very gently start to work the brisltes under the decal. You gotta be slow, patient and light handed but it does work.

This is a nice build. It looks great.
Since you asked I'll point out a couple of things. Please don't take this as a slam against your nice work.
1. It looks like you might have attached the outer smaller pylons on the wrong sides. They should angle outward from the plane at 4 degrees. It might just be the photo but it looks like yours are angled inwards.
2. This is minor but there should be a little bit of grey around all sides of the anti slip areas on the LEXs.
3. The two small rectangles on the left LEX should be darkened. You could fix that very easily.
4. I could be wrong about this but I think the dark grey grills on the wings where the wing fold hinges are shouldn't be there on the Growler. Hasegawa didn't catch this detail if my memory serves me correctly. I'm not 100% sure on this one, though.
5. The dark grey vents under the nose in front of the nose wheel well aren't there on the Growler. Those are purge vents for the gun gasses but since the Growler doesn't have a gun...
6. The exhaust nozzles on the Superhornets are dark on the inside. The legacy hornets are light on the inside.
These are nit-picky observations, of course.
