  1. Googled the LAU-118 and yes, that is the rail provided with my Italeri A-7E. Instructions indicate that it is to be used with both the AGM-65 and AGM-45, though I assume this is an inaccuracy on Italeri's part. Luckily I have two AGM-45s from the same kit. From what I understand the KFIR can carry the AGM-45 as well. Would a KFIR even carry the LAU-118?
  2. Thanks for the reply. Photo was the best my camera phone is able to do sadly. The rail that came with my A-7E doesn't look much like the LAU-117, though it might just lack detail. If anyone can find pictures of the KFIR with the AGM-65 I would appreciate it. I need a reference for how far forward to place the AGM-65/rail.
  3. Hello, I am currently working on a Hasegawa 1/72 KFIR C2. Rather than putting on the two wing fuel tanks I decided I would like to utilize my spare AGM-65s that came off of an Italeri A-7E. I am wondering if the USN A-7E AGM-65 launchers (for a single AGM-65) are the same as the Israeli Air Force AGM-65 launchers? And does anyone have a picture, preferably from the bottom, of KIFRs carrying the AGM-65? I saw one not too long ago though I am having difficulty finding it again. Here is an extremely blurry picture of the launcher I have from my A-7E kit: http://i995.photobucket.com/albums/af7
  4. I have two questions about French air force Mirage 2000Cs: 1) Out of the following colors, which would be the best match for the blue color on the 2000C: Model Masters: Dark Blue Gray, Light French Blue, Navy Blue Gray, Intermediate Blue FS 35164 and Blue FS 35414? Or is there another specific FS number that is a proper match? 2) For the gray color should I use FS 36495 Light Gray or is Light Ghost Gray? 3) Is there any external visual difference between the 2000C and the 2000C-5?
  5. Thanks for the replies. I will look for the Tamiya SKY FY21. If I don't find it I'll probably go with the light/dark ghost gray scheme. The gray scheme requires FS 36307, though would FS 36495 Light Gray be close enough? Two other questions: 1) Did the C2s carry the AGM-65? 2) I will also be starting a Ravell French Mirage 2000C. What color would be best for the blue in the camo? I have Dark Blue Gray and Light French Blue. Would either of these two look right?
  6. I recently picked up a Hasegawa IAF C2 KFIR. I am going to use one of the default color schemes provided with the instructions. One scheme (desert camo) requires FS 35622 Duck Egg Blue. Looked at a few local shops and they did not have it. What would be the next best color? I also have the option of doing a gray low visibility camo scheme, though the colors listed in the instructions are mixes. Are there any dedicated FS number colors for these specific colors or would I have to resort to mixing various paints? Thanks in advance.
  7. Thanks for that reply. Either I'll have to find one or I'll just put the centerline tank on. I do have a TER and a MER from an Italeri A-7E. Though I would assume the USAF/F-4 MERs and TERs are different from USN/USMC/A-7E? When did the USAF F-4Es exit service if you don't mind me asking?
  8. Thanks for the relies everyone. I now have two more questions. 1) Would an USAF F-4E carry AIM-9Ls in 1981? Or were F-4Es already converted to Gs? 2) In my Hasegawa kit I am supplied with the following hardpoint, part B50 (sorry for the low quality pic): http://i995.photobucket.com/albums/af73/Flogger23m/DSC01722.jpg Is this a hardpoint (for the center/middle/bottom of the aircraft) for use with bombs? And would it require any extra rails/attachment points for the use of MK82 Snake eyes?
  9. I have two questions: 1) I am looking to put Vietnam era AIM-9s (B/D/E/J) on a 1/72 Hasegawa F-4E. I also lack the duel rail launcher for the AIM-9s that goes on the inner wing hard points. Which, if any, Hasegawa weapon sets come with the older AIM-9s and rails for the F-4? If Hasegawa does not make them who does? 2) Did USN/USMC A-4Cs carry the AGM-12 or AGM-45?
  10. Using the same one. Comparing it to Dark Earth (don't recall the FS number, used on a different "test" F-18 I have) it looks almost identical. Perhaps they put the wrong label on mine.
  11. Hello, I am working on a Hasegawa F-4E 1/72 kit (the older mold). I'm doing the color and decal scheme that comes with the aircraft which is a Vietnam era color, in particular I am using FS 30219 Dark Tan. Going off of the picture of the model completed on the package, the tan color should look similar to the tan color seen here: That is the color I would expect on an F-4E. As mentioned, the directions indicate that I need FS 30129 so I went ahead and used it. Though my FS 30219 turned out to be a very dark brown. I am wondering if FS 30129 is indeed supposed to be a dark brown? If this
  12. This is indeed an older kit from what I can tell. Nose section is part of the fuselage. I dry fitted with the wheels on the gear and it seemed like the nose was a bit high. I figured F-4s were essentially flat, so I will look into some more trimming. Hopefully I don't trim too much off.
  13. Hello, I am putting together a Hasegawa F-4E 1/72 kit (the specific kit is in the following link): http://www.amazon.com/Hasegawa-72-F-4E-Phantom-II/dp/B0006NGM4E/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1340999229&sr=8-1&keywords=hasegawa+F-4E I have a question regarding the front landing gear strut (hopefully this is the proper term). In the landing gear bay, there is a cut out for the strut to insert into, though when dry fitting it the strut will not go inside the cut out/groove (circled in red). I am wondering if this strut is supposed to go inside of the cut out or just sit on top of it?
  14. Hello all. Recently I bought a Hasegawa 1/72 FRS 1 Sea Harrier. When looking at pictures (and even on the cover) I notice that most FRS 1s I see lack the refueling probe. I am wondering if the refueling probe on the FRS 1 is removable? I realize it is not retractable, but I am wondering if they can be removed and refitted when needed? In particular I plan on doing the color scheme in the center of this picture. Does anyone know if this scheme did not use the refueling probe?: I would prefer not to put it on as I think it looks ugly, but if that is inaccurate then I will put the probe on.
  15. So far I am just doing everything with brushes, so I will probably pick up the best primer that I can apply with a brush. The flat gull gray (Model Master enamel) I have is producing some bubbles when applied to the plastic. I tried shaking and stirring for a minute or so (it was very watery when opened). Should I try stirring it some more? Its been sitting unopened for about 5 or so years. I also have some Mr. Mark Softer (again, 5 years or so since it was last opened). I tried this out on a cheap Hobby Craft F-18 I bought years ago. I applied some to the surface and then placed the decal
