  1. Thanks for the further input guys. I just ordered both The Viper Guide and ANG Viper book. From further research it does look like the 1/72 Revell F-16C is a good kit for the Colorado ANG F-16C Block 30. Thanks again, Erik
  2. David, Wow! Thanks. I'm a little embarrassed that I totally missed that site, with it's . . . uuuhh . . . complicated name. :) Their is everything I need on that site. Thanks again! Erik
  3. As a Coloradan I thought it would be cool to build a Colorado ANG F-16C in 1/72 scale. I was motivated after seeing a cool 1/48 scale version at the IPMS show in Loveland last weekend. My issues is I know absolutely Zip, ziltch, nadda about F-16s and the spotting features that identify different blocks. Does anyone have any idea what block of F-16C these Colorado ANG F-16Cs are? http://www.bing.com/images/search?q=colorado+ang+f-16&FORM=HDRSC2 Thanks! Erik
  4. I'm selling this Eduard 1/48 scale Siemens Schuckert D.III #8001 released in 1993 and AeroMaster Siemens Shuckert Fighter Collection decals #48-198. All the original parts are in the box including, the plastic kit, photo etched sheet, resin engine, lozenge decals and aircraft decals. The box is open, but everything is there as it should be. SOLD Email or PM if you're interested. Thanks! Erik
  5. I’m planning on building a 1/72 scale VF-102 F-14B with the small Diamondback emblem and the letters A and B on the tail as seen here: I have a Hasegawa F-14B kit (unfortunately, not the one with VF-102 decals) and the CAM decals for the later VF-102 version with the larger Diamondback emblem, with no letters on the outside of the tail. I’m looking for decals from the Hasegawa 1/72 scale F-14B # 00745 kit. I just need the tail emblem decals 3,5,6 and 3,7,8 as seen here on version 1 at the top: If you built either of the other 2 schemes included on the decals sheet, you didn’t use
  6. Thanks for the kind words guys. This site has been a real inspiration for me. Dave, The figures are Century Wings figures. I used figures from all 4 sets below. I didn't like the way they were painted, so in addition to swapping some arms out and bending others (easy enough to do since they're made of metal), I primed and repainted them. Here are the 4 sets. http://www.centurywings.com/model_144/flight_deck_crew_1.html http://www.centurywings.com/model_144/flight_deck_crew_2.html http://www.centurywings.com/model_144/flight_deck_crew_3.html http://www.centurywings.com/model_144/fligh
  7. My 1/144 scale diorama depicts the launch of an F-14B Tomcat of FV-103 Jolly Rogers in November 2004 from the deck of USS John F. Kennedy in support of ground operations in Iraq. The F-14 is a model from Revell. I used Goffy Models aftermarket sets for the wings in launch position, laser guided bombs and targeting pod. The carrier deck and vehicles were from a Dragon kit. The deck crewmen are pewter sets from Japan. I modified these and painted them to accurately reflect deck crewmen in 2004. I used Fightertown Decals for the F-14 and Starfighter Decals for the vehicles and some of the d
  8. Here are my two 1/144 scale carrier deck vehicles that will be featured in my F-14 launch diorama http://s362974870.onlinehome.us/forums/air/index.php?showtopic=235515 . Both are Dragon offerings. The fire vehicle had great molded on detail so aside from .016" brass wire for hoses at the front and a couple bits of styrene it was built as is. I did add a couple extra decals though. The tow tractor was not very detailed so I added details made from .010" styrene shapes, .022" solder and .008" brass wire. This was decaled with an aftermarket decal set. Both vehicles have steering wheels ma
  9. Hey guys, thanks for all the kind words. I think the most important ingedient in small scale stuff is patience! I think I'm the slowest builder around. This was a leisurely 3 month project. My primary hobby is model railroading in N scale (1/160), so this is about the size I'm used to working with. Also, the two Goffy sets I used were bought from UMM Models. I think they're both still in stock. 10. This is my 1/144 scale VF-103 “Jolly Rogers†F-14B. The F-14 represents an aircraft from VF-103 as it appeared in November 2004, flying off the John F. Kennedy in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom. I’m building a carrier launch diorama centered on this plane. It was built from a Revell F-14D kit. I scratch built the F-14B chin pod. Other modifications include adding details to the ejection seats, specifically the black and yellow striped ejection seat handles, made out of .006†brass wire. The rear tail planes were molded onto the top half of the fuselage, so I carefully cut them
